Mental Health Screening. Upon request, your Physician will perform a preliminary mental health screening examination and, if appropriate, make referrals to qualified mental health service providers in your community.

Mental Health Screening. The State shall develop and implement policies, procedures and practices for all youth admitted to the facilities to be screened comprehensively by qualified mental health professionals in a timely manner utilizing reliable and valid measures. If, due to exceptional circumstances, no such professional is on-site to conduct the screening, it shall be conducted by another staff member who has received specific training in conducting such assessments and reviewed by a qualified mental health professional.
Mental Health Screening. The State shall develop and implement adequate policies, procedures, and practices consistent with generally accepted correctional mental health care standards to ensure that all inmates receive an adequate initial mental health screening by appropriately trained staff within twenty-four (24) hours after intake. Such screening shall include an individual private (consistent with security limitations) interview of each incoming inmate, including whether the inmate has a history of mental illness, is currently receiving or has received psychotropic medications, has attempted suicide, or has suicidal propensities. Documentation of the screening shall be maintained in the appropriate medical record. Inmates who have been on psychotropic medications prior to intake will be assessed by a psychiatrist as to the need to continue those medications, in a timely manner, no later than 7-10 days after intake or sooner if clinically appropriate. These inmates shall remain on previously prescribed psychotropic medications pending psychiatrist assessment. Incoming inmates who are in need of emergency mental health services shall receive such care immediately after intake. Incoming inmates who require resumption of psychotropic medications shall be seen by a psychiatrist as soon as clinically appropriate.

Mental Health Screening. □ Youth is not presently prescribed any psychotropic medication (e.g., antipsychotics, antidepressants, or mood stabilizers) □ Youth has not engaged in self-injurious behavior within the past two (2) years, nor required suicide watch or hospitalization for a mental health issue. □ If previously on psychotropic medication, youth has been screened by a mental health clinician who has determined that this individual, who has a history of mental health treatment, has been emotionally stable without psychotropic medication(s) for a period of at least four months. □ Youth has been screened by a mental health clinician who has determined that this individual does not require ongoing mental health treatment. □ Youth does not have an intellectual developmental disorder or a pervasive developmental disability (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder), an acute mental health condition (such as depressive episodes), or a chronic serious mental health disorder (such as schizophrenia) that limits their ability to comprehend or follow instructions or otherwise impairs their ability to engage appropriately in social and communication and interaction. We review network and non-network programs, hospitals and inpatient facilities, and the specific services provided to decide whether a preauthorization, hospital or inpatient facility, or specific services rendered meets our program requirements, content and criteria.
