Motorcycle Officer. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF COTATI AND THE COTATI POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION Sworn officers assigned to full-time Motorcycle Officer duty shall receive an initial motorcycle uniform not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000) in cost consisting of the following items: Two (2) pairs motor pants Three (3) uniform shirts One (1) Leather jacket Two (2) pair of gloves Two (2) pairs of glasses (one sun, one clear) One (1) pair of motor boots Cotati Police Department patches Motor Officer Insignia The City will determine the baseline items for this motorcycle uniform. An officer may upgrade any of these items at the officer's expense. Beginning with the subsequent fiscal year, sworn officers assigned to full-time motorcycle duty will receive a one-thousand dollars ($1,000) uniform allowance payment in equal installments in each paycheck. The officer will replace any worn and/or faded items at the officer's expense.

Motorcycle Officer. Any such employee assigned to work as a motorcycle officer shall be compensated at the rate of $.55 per hour, plus overtime rates where applicable, for all time actually worked as a motorcycle officer. This differential does not apply to vacation, sick leave, Morkers’ Compensation leave or holiday pay.

Motorcycle Officer. The Chief of Police has the authority and the discretion to designate and/or remove any Police Officer as a Motorcycle Officer up to budget authority. Police Officers who are assigned as Motor Officers shall receive a Motor Officer bonus of eleven (11%) above the Officer's rate of pay to ride a two-wheel (2) motorcycle. Any Police Officer who is designated and assigned by the Chief of Police as a Motorcycle Officer to ride on a full-time basis a three-wheel (3) motorcycle shall receive five and one-half percent (5.5 %) per month above the Officer's regular scheduled rate of pay. The number of Officers on any shift designated as Motorcycle Officers, either to ride a two-wheel or three-wheel motorcycle, shall not exceed the number of motorcycles of that category actually in use on that shift.
Motorcycle Officer. 45.1: Selected motorcycle trained officers shall be assigned to the Selective Enforcement Unit and shall be assigned to work an 8.5 hour shift schedule.
