Special Assignment. A voluntary, temporary assignment of a bargaining unit employee to duties other than those of his/her position of record that is:
a. More than twenty percent (20%) of the bargaining unit employee's scheduled work hours; and for more than thirty (30) calendar days in duration.
b. Service on advisory councils/committees are not considered special assignments. Additionally, any deployment of security personnel for security-related duties and functions (e.g., ATLAS, VIPR) is excluded and not considered a special assignment.
Special Assignment. From August 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998 ("Special Assignment Period"), you will continue on the GTE Service Corporation (the "Company") payroll as an active employee in your new special assignment as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, reporting to me or my successor or designee. During the Special Assignment Period, you will work on special projects as assigned by me or my successor or designee. In addition, during the Special Assignment Period, you will continue to receive your base salary as in effect on July 31, 1997 and will receive all benefits that active employees receive, except that your EIP and LTIP participation will be governed by the terms of this Letter Agreement. Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, all perquisites provided by the Company will cease at the end of the Special Assignment Period. In the event the Company offers any new employee plans, any new, enhanced, or supplemental executive plans, or, except as expressly provided herein, any new grants, awards, or benefits under existing executive plans on or after July 31, 1997, you will not participate in such plans or receive such grants, awards, or benefits. Special Assignment. 1. The Department agrees to allow members to participate in either a federal or state emergency response program such as but not limited to the New Hampshire wildland fire fighting response team or a federal USAR team. While on Special Assignment the member shall be considered to be on a temporary assigned duty with the Derry Fire Department for the purposes of Workers Compensation.
2. The Department shall limit the amount of time for Special Assignment to be a total of thirty-two (32) calendar days annually for all Department members. This time shall be shared between both Units. If no member of this Unit applies and is accepted to participate then the other Unit shall be able to use the entire thirty-two (32) calendar days.
3. Time off shall be used in increments of sixteen (16) days. The Fire Chief may approve times longer than or shorter than this. Nothing in this clause allows more than thirty-two (32) calendar days to be used annually.
4. When a member is on Special Assignment he shall use his earned time. The Fire Chief may forego the requirements for use of Earned Time for employees on Special Assignment.
Special Assignment. Communication Operators performing a special assignment (EMDQ, Asst. EMDQ, TAC and Asst. TAC) shall be plus rated at five percent (5%) above the listed Communications Operators basic pay scale for all hours in paid status while filling such assignment. Management may designate other temporary special assignments as needed at their discretion. Should a Communication Operator also be assigned as the O.I.C. listed below, such Communication Operator shall receive an additional seven percent (7%) plus rating for a total of twelve percent (12%).
Special Assignment. A. The Special Assignment salary range covered by this Contract is set forth on Appendix A, which is attached hereto, and incorporated in this Contract. Such salary shall be the total compensation for the performance of such special assignment regardless of when such services are performed.
Special Assignment. Certified personnel who wish to attend local meetings as part of their job assignment and where there are no expenses to the Board including substitutes, shall be permitted to attend through authorization of the building principal. In such case, no form for professional leave is needed.
Special Assignment. The pay rates are dependent on the special assignments; generally, the daily contract rate, or the per diem rate. These rates are computed as follows:
Special Assignment. Effective June 30, 2007, the differential pay for affected employees on special assignment was modified as follows: Pilot-in-Command (PIC) 8.2% of top step Officer per month PIC with a commercial rating 11.3% of top step Officer per month Helicopter Observer 2.3% of top step Officer per month Motor Officer 7.9% of top step Officer per month School Resource Officer 3.1% of top step Officer per month Field Training Officer (Patrol/Motor/Aero-Bureau/K-9) 6.8% of top step Officer per month Field Training Officer 3.4% of top step Officer per month (not assigned a Trainee) Special assignment pay is effective on the 1st day of such assignment. Special Assignment. A. From time to time, the Department may offer opportunities for special assignments to members of the bargaining unit. In connection with such an offer, the Department will solicit letters of interest for special assignments.
B. The department will post an internal notice of special assignment opportunities. Officers interested in a special assignment will provide written notice of such interest to the Chief/CMU PD. The Department will interview Officers who have provided written notice of interest in the special assignment.
C. The assignment of an Officer to the special assignment shall be at the sole discretion of the Chief/CMU PD who shall have the sole and exclusive discretion to select and appoint an Officer to that Assignment
D. An Officer assigned to Special Assignments will develop and submit to the Chief/CMU PD for approval and/or modification a flexible work schedule to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to him/her. Scheduling changes from the established shift shall not result in overtime to the member of the bargaining unit or exceed a bi-weekly work period of 84 hours except during “emergency situations” as referenced elsewhere in this Agreement and as approved by management.
E. The normal pay period for these assignments will be bi-weekly and shall consist of 84 scheduled hours per pay period.
F. An Officer selected for Special Assignments may be excluded from working holidays at the discretion of the Department.
G. The Chief/CMU PD, or designee, may terminate a Special Assignment at any time on 10 days’ notice.
H. An Officer on Special Assignment (except an Officer working under the direction and control of another law enforcement agency as authorized by the Chief/CMU PD, or designee) shall remain on the regular overtime call-in list. For an Officer in Special Assignments, any need for overtime related to the Special Assignment, as authorized by the Chief/CMU PD (or designee), shall not be subject to any overtime distribution fairness requirement. If scheduling and availability permit, An Officer on Special Assignment may be called to work overtime as offered by policy and eligibility conditions of the regular overtime procedures.
I. The normal scheduling provision of the collective bargaining agreement will not apply to an Officer in Special Assignments.
