Motors. This section covers the general requirements of motors for the generation facility. Except as specified herein, all motors shall conform to NEMA MG1, with respect to material, workmanship, design, and tests. All motors shall be designed for the environmental atmosphere of their location. The specific requirements for each motor shall be shown on the Motor Data Sheets. One data sheet shall be completed for each motor type and frame size. Motors shall permit the driven equipment to develop its specified capacity continuously without exceeding the specified temperature and without encroaching on the service factor. When motors are furnished with driven equipment, the driven equipment supplier shall be responsible for mounting motor and driven equipment as a complete unit. Motor enclosures shall be as follows: - 460 V and 4000 V motor enclosures shall be weather-protected Type II or totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) for outdoor locations and TEFC for indoor locations, - 115 V motor enclosures shall be totally enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) or TEFC, All motors rated 1/2 hp and larger shall be three-phase, squirrel cage induction type, 230/460 V, up to and including 250 hp, and 4,000 v above 300 hp, 60 Hz. All motors rated below 1/2 hp shall be single phase, 115 v, 60 Hz. DC motors shall be rated at 125 v for service from the Contractor-supplied battery system. Motors shall be provided with Class F insulation limited to Class B rise suitable for the conditions encountered at this power generating station, except for fractional horsepower motors which may be furnished with Class B insulation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EPC - Exhibit B -------------------- TENASKA GEORGIA GENERATION PROJECT Page 110 of 132 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motors shall be designed for across-the-line starting and shall be capable of accelerating the connected load to full load speed with the calculated voltage drop at the motor terminals. DC motors shall be capable of accelerating the connected load running continuously for supply varying in accordance with the unit battery cyclic operating conditions. The full load current when operating at 90 percent of rated voltage shall not exceed 1.11 times rated full load current. Motor safe locked rotor time at rated locked rotor current shall be equal to or greater than the maximum accelerating time at minimum specified starting voltage. ...
Motors. Effective the beginning of the pay period following Council approval of this Agreement, motors assignment shall be for five (5) years. Employees assigned to the Motor FTO position shall be eligible to remain in the motors assignment for an additional two (2) years for a maximum of seven (7) years in total. At the discretion of the Police Chief, the assignment may be extended for operational purposes. Employees who are assigned to motors as of Council approval of this Agreement will remain in the current assignment for seven (7) years, beginning from the date of Council approval. Reassignment shall occur upon completion of the seven-year period. At the discretion of the Police Chief, the assignment may be extended for operational purposes.

Motors. The Contractor inspects and ensures that motors:  are kept clean and free from any coal spillage and dust, at all times;  are not to run if wet, and  are not submerged in mud or coal slurry.  are sufficiently lubricated In the event of any of the above happening, the motor is thoroughly cleaned, dried out and serviced, before being made operational; The Contractor inspects and records motor parameters during weekly inspections. In addition, the Contractor ensures that:  monthly tests are carried out to monitor electrical current and vibration levels; and  the findings of the tests are documented to determine when the motor must be serviced, or overhauled;  motors are not to run with abnormal vibrations; and  in the event of abnormal vibrations being detected, the motor is rectified immediately;  motors are not to run when the cooling system is not in operation, or defective; and  an abnormal rise in temperature is attended to;  the thermal rating of the motor is not exceeded;  bearing temperatures to be monitored. Motors are not started more than that specified by the manufacturer of the motor, within a given time frame.
Motors. Customer’s motors must be of a type approved by the Company as suitable for the particular voltage or system of supply available.
