Nine Hour Shift. Notwithstanding any other provision in this collective agreement, the Company shall have the option of replacing up to existing midnight shift positions and posting up to hour'' midnight shift vacancies in classifications determined by the Company with the following characteristics: the standard shift will consist of eight hours of straight time and up to an additional one hour mandatory overtime; the decision about whether any particular "nine hour" shift employee will be required to perform up to an additional one hour of overtime is solely at management's discretion and shall be made on a shift by shift basis during the shift; where overtime in addition to that required in above is required, it will first be offered to the employee occupying the nine hour shift of a voluntary basis. Nine Hour Shift. Where mutually agreeable to the Medical Center, the Association and the nurse concerned, a normal workday may consist of nine (9) hours. All time worked in excess of nine (9) hours on any shift shall be paid at a premium rate of time and one-half the regular rate of pay. All time worked in excess of twelve (12) hours shall be paid at the premium rate of double the regular rate of pay.
