Parental Leave Extension. An employee who takes parental leave as per Section 41.2 may elect to have the parental leave extended without pay for up to an additional 8 weeks. Benefit coverage, Service Credit and Reinstatement shall be as per 41.2.

Parental Leave Extension. Parental leave without pay may be extended for an additional five (5) weeks if the medical condition of the child requires the extension.
Parental Leave Extension beyond the initial 12 months An employee may request to extend their initial 12 month period of parental leave by up to an additional 12 months, immediately after the end of their initial 12 month period. This request must also be made in writing, at least 4 weeks before the end of their initial 12 month period, indicating their requested return date. Vicdeaf will consider the request having regard to the employee’s circumstances and the effect on the workplace and will respond in writing by no later than 21 days after the request is made.

  • Parental Leave of Absence A. A female unit member may use any or all accumulated leave during pre- and post-natal care for that period of time she is temporarily disabled, as determined by the unit member and her physician.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

The leave shall commence on the date requested by the ASF Member, and shall continue for a period up to nine (9) months. Parental leave may be extended for an additional six (6) months upon application to and approval by the President/designee.

  • Commencement of Parental Leave Subject to subsection 24.07, Parental Leave in Addition to Maternity Leave, parental leave must commence no later than the first anniversary date of the birth or adoption of the child, or of the date on which the child comes into the actual care and custody of the employee.
