PEOPLE DeductionsConsistent with the procedures established by the Lorain County Auditor, the Employer agrees to deduct from the wages of any employee who is a member of the Union a PEOPLE (Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality) deduction as provided for in a voluntary written authorization. Such authorization must be executed by the employee and may be revoked by the employee at any time by giving written notice to both the Employer and the Union. The Employer agrees to remit any deductions made pursuant to this provision promptly to OAPSE’s Columbus office together with an itemized statement showing the name of each employee from whose pay such deductions have been made and the amount deducted during the period covered by the remittance. The Employer agrees to remit these deductions in a separate check. The Union agrees to indemnify the Employer for any claims, demands, suits, and any other forms of liability incurred as a result of the implementation and enforcement of this provision.

The Union shall advise the Employer of any increase in dues or other approved deductions in writing at least fifteen (15) days prior to its effective date. 9.02. Employer shall be obligated to make such deductions until notified in writing that the Employee is revoking or amending Employer’s authorization. Deductions shall be made in accordance with the terms of an employee’s written authorization. 9.03. The Employer shall rely on the information provided by the Union regarding whether deductions are properly authorized, revoked, canceled, or changed. The Union shall indemnify, defend and hold the Employer harmless against any claim, demand, suit, liability, damages and costs of defense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from any action taken by the Employer in complying with this Article.
PEOPLE DeductionsThe Employer agrees to deduct voluntary contributions to the Public Employees Organized for Political Legislative Equality (P.E.O.P.L.E.). Deductions shall be submitted to the Union, pursuant to the authorization card attached hereto as Exhibit A, no later than the tenth (10th) day following deductions. The Chapter Chairperson shall be furnished an alphabetical listing of employees having political deductions made at the time the contributions are submitted to the Union.

PEOPLE DeductionsThe Employer will deduct voluntary contributions to the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employee International Bargaining Unit’s Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality (PEOPLE) Committee from the pay of an employee upon receipt from the Bargaining Unit of an individual written authorization card voluntarily executed by the employee. The Contribution amount will be certified to the Employer by the Bargaining Unit. Monies deducted shall be remitted to the Bargaining Unit within five (5) to fifteen
PEOPLE DeductionsThe Board agrees to deduct from the wages of any employee who is a new member of the Association a PEOPLE (Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality) deduction as provided for in a voluntary, written authorization. Such an authorization must be voluntarily executed by the employee and filed with the Treasurer's Office between August 1st and August 30 of any year and may be in the amount of $50, $100, $150 or $250 for the year. The employee may revoke the authorization at any time without reprisal from the Association by giving written notice to the Treasurer's Office with a copy to the Association via one of its officers. The Treasurer may assume that notice was given to the Association if the employee's written notice indicates a copy was sent to one of the Association's officers. The Board agrees to send to the Treasurer of the Association a check made payable to "Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality," representing the total deductions made pursuant to this provision, together with an itemized statement showing the name of each employee from whose pay such deductions have been made and the amount deducted during the period covered by the remittance. OAPSE agrees to fully indemnify and reimburse the Board for any costs expended due to misunderstandings, disputes, grievances, or claims that may arise out of the implementation of the PEOPLE deduction. If the deduction is determined at any time to be illegal, OAPSE shall reimburse the Board for the amount involved of any claims, grievances, or disputes that may arise out of such determination.
PEOPLE DeductionsUpon receipt of a voluntary written individual order therefore from any of its employees covered by this Agreement on forms provided by the Union, the Employer will deduct from the pay to such employees, those P.E.O.P.L.E. contributions authorized by the employee. The parties agree that such deduction shall be used for federal elective offices only. If voluntary P.E.O.P.L.E. contributions referred to herein are used in conjunction with Wisconsin state or local elective offices, the Employer may discontinue P.E.O.P.L.E. deductions with thirty (30) calendar days written notice to AFSCME, AFL-CIO and Local 60. The Employer shall provide to AFSCME, AFL-CIO, and Local 60, a list of employees who have authorized P.E.O.P.L.E. deductions with each remittance. Such orders may be terminable in accordance with the terms of the order the employee has on file with the Employer. The Union shall indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability which may arise out of any action taken or not taken by the Employer for the purpose of complying with the provisions of this section.
