Personal Empowerment. Program services shall be a ten (10) 9 week educational support program to help victims break the cycle of domestic 10 violence through education on the dynamics of domestic violence, effects of 11 violence on victims and their children, and to help victims protect children 12 who live in domestic violence homes. Topics shall include, but are not 13 limited to: safety planning, boundaries, anger management, legal aspects of 14 domestic violence, work through denial, and maintain healthy relationships.

Personal Empowerment. 22 Program services. Each class shall be a minimum of two (2) hours in duration, PEP services shall be offered continuously during 23 HO shall provide Personal Empowerment Program services from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 the term of this Agreement 24 p.m., Monday through Friday, 25 at dates and times convenient for PARTICIPANTS. HO 26 shall offer Personal Empowerment Program services at additional times based on 27 PARTICIPANT availability.
Personal Empowerment. People who negotiate their own settlements often feel more powerful than those who use surrogate advocates, such as lawyers, to represent them. Mediation negotiations can provide a forum for learning about and exercising personal power or influence (Xxxx, Xxxxx and Xxxxxxx, 1980). Many disputes occur in the context of relationships that will continue over future years. A mediated settlement that addresses all parties' interests can often preserve a working relationship in ways that would not be possible in a win/lose decision-making procedure. Mediation can also make the termination of a relationship more amicable. Parties who mediate their differences are able to attend to the fine details of implementation. Negotiated or mediated agreements can include specially tailored procedures for how the decisions will be carried out. This fact often enhances the likelihood that parties will actually comply with the terms of the settlement. Agreements that are Better than Simple Compromises or Win/Lose Outcomes Interest-based mediated negotiations can result in settlements that are more satisfactory to all parties than simple compromise decisions.   • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. C. Appearance in court as litigant. D. Serious or critical illness or injury of member of the immediate family, as defined, of such a nature that the immediate presence of the employee is required during his workday. E. Other significant circumstances which are not school or school district related, that the employee feels need immediate attention. 14.17.2 Before the utilization of personal necessity leave, a unit member must provide prior notice to the appropriate supervisor, except in cases of A, B, and D. Should the circumstances outlined in A, B, D arise, the employee shall make every effort to comply with the District procedures to enable the District to obtain a substitute. 14.17.3 P.N. under “E” shall not be used on Friday or Monday unless previously approved by their immediate supervisor. 14.17.4 Leave shall not be available for the following: Withholding services to the District Shopping Seeking other employment Recreation Extending vacation or holidays Donating Service Attendance at non-professional meetings

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below. 2. Accrued 75% sick leave may be used following use of all 100% sick leave at the employee’s discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. An educator will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations beyond the control of the educator which would significantly impair teaching service. Personal emergency leave may not be used for illness or injury, or illness or injury in the immediate family. Deductions from the gross pay of an educator for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken. 2. An educator may be granted up to five (5) days leave without pay for business or personal reasons having unusual circumstances.

  • Personal Necessity A maximum of eight (8) days of accumulated sick leave may be used in any school year for personal necessity leave for any of the following reasons:

  • Personal Leave Days Section 1. All employees after completion of six (6) months of service shall be entitled to receive personal leave days in the following manner: (A) All full time employees shall be entitled to twenty-four (24) hours of personal leave with pay each fiscal year; (B) Part-time, seasonal, and job share employees shall be granted such leave in a prorated amount of twenty-four (24) hours based on the same percentage or fraction of month they are hired to work, or as subsequently formally modified, provided it is anticipated that they will work 1,040 hours during the fiscal year; Section 2. Should any employee fail to work 1,040 hours for the fiscal year, the value of personal leave time used may be recovered from the employee. Section 3. Personal leave shall not be cumulative from year to year nor is any unused leave compensable in any other manner. Section 4. Such leave may be used by an employee for any purpose he/she desires and may be taken at times mutually agreeable to the university and the employee.
