Position Identification. The Employer will identify positions suitable for teleworking from those employees submitting applications after considering input from the Union and consistent with DR 4080- 811-002 (June 2, 2005). Positions identified for teleworking depend on the specific nature of the work being performed, not the job series and title. Work requiring independent, uninterrupted concentration for optimum results will be given first consideration. The Employer will identify eligible positions from those employees submitting applications. The Employer will notify each applicant of their eligibility to participate in the telework program within 30 days of receipt of the telework application and supporting documentation. Positions not generally eligible for telework involve tasks that require the employee to have extensive face-to-face contact with their supervisor, colleagues, customers, or the general public in order to be effective. Trainee or entry level (probationary) positions are generally not eligible. The Employer may deny an employee’s application in order to ensure adequate on-site staffing at the duty station. If an employee's application is denied, the Employer will state the reasons for the denial in the employee’s written notification.
