This includes (but is not limited to) such elements as planning, data-based decisions, and communication. No such classroom observation shall take place within five (5) teacher employment days after this meeting unless mutually agreed upon.

The Evaluator may distribute material related to the evaluation process. The Teacher will apprise the Evaluator of his/her personal objectives, methods, and materials planned for the Teacher learning situation during which the Teacher is to be observed.
Pre-ConferencePrior to any observations, a group pre conference will be conducted by the evaluator. All staff members scheduled for observation must be in attendance. In addition, all first-year teachers will be scheduled for an individual pre-conference. Any other teacher who wishes to attend an individual conference may schedule one.
Pre-Conference. 11.4.1 When a formal observation is scheduled, a pre-conference will be held between the unit member (except teaching assistants, certified occupational therapy assistants, and certified physical therapist assistants) and the observer/evaluator to discuss aims and objectives of the lesson at the observation/evaluation. 11.4.2 Prior to the initial formal observation/evaluation of a new unit member, he/she will be made aware of the purpose and procedure for formal observation/evaluation by a member of the administrative staff. At the option of either the unit member and/or the administrator, the mentor assigned to the unit member may be invited to attend.
Pre-Conference. During the pre-conference, held prior to the formal holistic observation, the teacher/counselor provides important information which may not be directly observable during the observation. This includes (but is not limited to) such elements as planning, data-based decisions, and communication. Information/evidence obtained through the pre-conference will be utilized to inform ratings on the evaluation rubric. Pre-conferences are not required for formal focused observations, but may be requested by either the evaluator or member. Completion of the provided pre-conference form is not required. However, it is strongly recommended that employees complete it and submit it to their evaluators, as the completed form ensures a more thorough documentation of evidence in the areas included. Further, completion of the pre-conference form may make the pre-conference meeting more efficient, or negate the need for a pre-conference meeting (if mutually agreed upon by the evaluator and the person being evaluated).
