Pre-Grievance Conference. In the event the teacher feels he/she/they has a basis for a grievance he/she/they may, at his/her/their option, be accompanied by his/her/their Association Representative to discuss the problem with his/her/their building principal. The Association shall have the right to be present in the event of any adjustment or settlement of the grievance occurring at this level.

Pre-Grievance Conference. The purpose of the pre-grievance conference is to settle disputes informally. If an employee feels that his/her rights have been violated, the employee shall contact the involved party who has approved the action in question within five (5) days of the action, or within five (5) days of when the employee should reasonably have known of the action, to arrange for a meeting to take place within five (5) days of such notice. A thorough discussion of the complaint shall be conducted during the pre-grievance conference in order to seek grounds for resolution of the problem.

  • Grievance Mediation Nothing in this Article precludes the Parties from mutually agreeing to grievance mediation during any stage of the grievance procedure. The agreement shall be made in writing and stipulate the name of the person and the time line for grievance mediation to occur.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration.   • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.
