Prime Coat. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx, Xxx Xxxx HS Metal Primer Gray in color #B50AZ8 or approved equal. Xxx Xxxx HS should not be thinned by adding more than 3% Xylene. Primer must be applied within 8 hours of exposing metal and before flash rust appears. The entire pole shall be coated from where the pole contacts the concrete to the base of the street light fixture regardless of the required preparation standard selected. The fixtures will be painted by others. Primer should be allowed to cure a minimum of 24 hours prior to the application of the next coat. Manufacturer specifications shall be followed at all times. Cabinets and poles on Arlington Ave. from Waltham to Guilford are to be painted SW 6990 Caviar. The Contractor shall coat all surfaces to achieve a wet film thickness recommended by the manufacturer. The entire pole shall be coated from where the pole contacts the concrete to the base of the street light fixture regardless of the required preparation standard selected. The fixtures will be painted by others. Do not fill screw heads with paint. 2nd Top Coat The contractor shall use Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx DTM Acrylic Coating – B66-200. SW 4072 Cedar Green shall be used for the majority of the Arcadian poles. Cabinets and poles on Arlington Ave. from Waltham to Guilford are to be painted SW 6990 Caviar and poles and fixtures along Arlington Center shall be SW 9183 Dark Clove. Apply a second top coat after the manufacturer recommended drying time to provide complete coverage. The entire pole shall be coated from where the pole contacts the concrete to the base of the street light fixture regardless of the required preparation standard selected. The fixtures will be painted by others. Do not fill screw heads with paint. The contractor shall apply paint in strict accordance with the applicable manufacturer printed data sheet and container label outlining recommended minimum and maximum surface and air temperatures required for application. Protection of the surface adjacent to the pole is required to prevent abrasion or coloring. Preventative actions must be taken to prevent blast material and paint over-spray from damaging adjacent property and vehicles.
