Professional Growth & Development. It is expected that all candidates would remain technologically and pedagogically current in his/her respective field. Examples may include, but are not limited to: (1) Remains current in his/her academic discipline through conferences, workshops, courses, and professional affiliations. (2) Participates in college recognized professions associations, including teachers’ organizations. (3) Participates in panels, courses or workshops locally, regionally and/or nationally. (4) Participates as a member of an accreditation visiting team; (5) Participates as a member of a professional board or advisory board; (6) Participates in departmental or institutional self-studies. (7) Maintains contact with appropriate external agencies (businesses, hospitals, etc.) to ensure currency of curriculum.

Professional Growth & Development. Classified employees constitute an integral part of the Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District and a significant portion of the total school system. Their achievement of high levels of accomplishment is essential to the efficient economical operation of the District. Therefore, it is in the best interests of the District to encourage classified personnel to engage in continuous, purposeful educational study and activities designed to update professional skills and knowledge.
Professional Growth & Development. Section 1. All staff, on an equitable rotating basis, shall be given opportunity for growth and development through attendance at institutes, workshops, seminars and conferences, with the realization that maintenance of the Agency's service to the community must be uninterrupted and complete. Time off with pay and expenses toward fees, transportation, housing and food will be allowed insofar as possible, within budgetary limitations. Any staff person may utilize the time off with pay allowed to him/her under this section for classes that are time-equivalent to institutes, workshops, seminars, and conferences provided the subject matter relates directly to the staff person's current job responsibilities with the Agency. Employer will not reimburse the staff person for any costs related to the class such as tuition or books. Section 2. The Employer will increase the training monies to $500.00 annually for those employees who are mandated to acquire any licensures to perform his/her current position and CEU’s (pro-rated for part-time employees). The Employer will be required to reimburse the employee for any County, State, or Federal licensures required for billing purposes.
Professional Growth & Development. Section 1. Employees are encouraged to engage in continued professional growth through off-site professional development opportunities that will lead to the accomplishment of both individual and FRCS goals and objectives. Section 2. Before requesting time off or funding for a professional development workshop or conference, employees must submit a written request for approval to their Principal/Immediate Supervisor. The request must contain a complete program description, an explanation of how attendance at the workshop or conference will benefit FRCS, along with total costs and expected expenses. FRCS retains full discretion to approve or deny such professional development requests.
Professional Growth & Development. A. Administrator’s requests to attend professional conferences and conventions shall first be reviewed by the Superintendent and then may be approved by the Board of Education. Expenses previously approved by the Board, incurred by members as a result of their attendance and participation in these conferences or conventions shall be paid by the school district. In all instances receipts for expenses must be provided. Any Administrator may attend only one (1) National Conference every three (3) years. All arrangements are to be made by the Board Secretary/Business Administrator. B. The Board of Education will pay up to $865 for Professional Memberships (only) dues. C. The Board and the Administrators affirm that continued intellectual and professional growth are vital to the improvement of the educational program. The Board will reimburse Administrators for graduate courses completed (tuition costs to be decided by the Superintendent) not to exceed two (2) courses per year. The following conditions apply to all: 1. Non-tenured Administrators are not eligible for reimbursement until completing two years of service to the District. 2. An Administrator must receive approval from the Superintendent prior to enrolling. 3. An Administrator may only take courses within the area of administration unless the Superintendent and Board approve the exception. 4. An Administrator must receive a “B” or better per course in order to qualify for reimbursement. 5. An official college transcript and bill must be presented to the Superintendent prior to approval for reimbursement. 6. An Administrator taking graduate courses paid by the District will be required to reimburse the District if he/she leaves within two years of the reimbursement.

  • Professional Growth The Superintendent shall devote the Superintendent’s time, attention, and energy to the direction, administration, and supervision of the District. The Board, however, encourages the continued professional growth of the Superintendent through the Superintendent’s active attendance at and participation in appropriate professional meetings at the local, regional, state and national levels. The Board shall encourage the use of data and information sources, and shall encourage the participation of the Superintendent in pertinent education seminars and courses offered by public or private institutions or by educational associations, as well as the participation in informational meetings with those individuals whose particular skills, expertise, or backgrounds would serve to improve the capacity of the Superintendent to perform the Superintendent’s professional responsibilities for the District. In its encouragement of the Superintendent to grow professionally, the Board shall permit a reasonable amount of release time for the Superintendent as the Superintendent and the Board deem appropriate, to attend such seminars, courses or meetings. The District does hereby agree to provide in the District’s budget during the term of this Contract for the benefit of the Superintendent, a professional development budget per contract year to be used for registration, travel, meals, lodging, and other related expenses. The District shall pay the Superintendent’s membership dues to the American Association of School Administrators, the Texas Association of School Administrators, and the Texas Association of Suburban/Mid-Urban Schools, as well as other memberships necessary to maintain and improve the Superintendent’s professional skills.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County. Nothing in this subsection shall preclude the right of an employee to request specific training.

  • Professional Development and Training The Company shall pay for or reimburse the Executive for any reasonable professional development or training.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT Section 1 Expenses The COMMITTEE will pay the reasonable expenses (including fees, meals, lodging and/or transportation) incurred by teachers who attend workshops, seminars, conferences, or other professional improvement sessions at the request and/or with advance approval in writing of the Superintendent. Section 2 Credit for Projects The ASSOCIATION Professional Development Committee will meet with the superintendent to formulate professional development opportunities for teachers that benefit the educational goals of the Xxxxxxx Public Schools. Section 3 Credit for Courses Employees shall receive credit for a maximum of two (2) post-graduate courses per semester earned at an accredited degree granting college or university during the school year. An employee taking undergraduate courses during a school year may be granted credit at the discretion of the Superintendent or designee which discretion shall not be subject to the Grievance and Arbitration Procedures of this Agreement. Any post-graduate credits earned by an employee during the summer under this Agreement at an accredited degree granting college or university shall be recognized. Credits earned by an employee under this Agreement during the summer for undergraduate courses shall be recognized for movement on the salary schedule only to the extent that such courses had been approved in advance by the Superintendent or designee. Graduate credits earned after the Bachelor’s degree (provided they are not required or prerequisite courses in the Master’s Program) will be compensated at the Master’s level upon the successful completion of the Master’s Program. For salary purposes, educators who earned their Master’s Degree before the 1996-1997 school year will not qualify. This agreement is effective August 25, 1996. Movement on the salary schedule will only occur twice per school year: in September and in January. All documentation for movement on the salary schedule must be submitted to the payroll office no later than September 30 or January 31. There is a one-year limit for submission of courses in order to receive credit for movement on the salary schedule (one year from the time the course was completed).
