Professional Leave/Special Grants. The Board authorizes the Superintendent/designee to award special grants to qualified school- based and county-based employees who are assigned to the TSP salary schedule. The purpose of the grants is to enhance the ability of the affected employee(s) to carry out their responsibilities in a manner that will improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the Broward County Public Schools. The purpose of the grants is to enhance the ability of the affected employee(s) to carry out their responsibilities in a manner that will improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the Broward County Public Schools.   • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Professional Learning A. School-based Professional Learning

  • Additional Leaves Should an employee require additional time to care for a gravely ill family member, additional leaves may be granted beyond the eight (8) week period specified above. Such additional leave shall be pursuant to Article 13.02

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Additional Leave Any further leave granted beyond the normal thirty-seven (37) week period, or the forty-two (42) week period for special circumstances, will be unpaid leave without benefits.

  • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.
