Promotions Positions. (a) Definitions Positions of special responsibility: (i) Co-ordinator 1 A "Co-ordinator 1 " means a Teacher appointed to be responsible for or assist another co-ordinator in: 1. an area of curriculum; and/or 2. pastoral care; 3. other duties as determined by the Principal. (ii) Co-ordinator 2 A "Co-ordinator 2” means a Teacher appointed to be responsible for: 1 the supervision of a particular department or staff and/or group;
Promotions Positions. (a) In a secondary department, a Leadership Position Level 2 must be established where the teaching hours of a programme of work in an area of instruction or activity as determined by the School (e.g., subject or key learning area) exceeds 2,000 hours per annum, or where the position has other duties (of a comparable level) as determined by the Headmaster. (b) The School will ordinarily not reduce the overall number of promotions positions below a number which would have been required by the Award as at the Lodgement Date, subject to stable enrolments, during the life of the Agreement. Where reductions in the number of promotions positions are planned it is agreed that the School will consult with the affected Teacher(s) (and if requested their representative). This discussion shall take place as soon as is reasonably practicable and the School will inform the affected Teacher(s) of the reasons for the proposed reduction and the options available to the affected Teacher(s).

A Teacher in receipt of a leadership allowance pursuant to the previous Agreement that applied in the School will be reclassified onto the appropriate Leadership Level in this Agreement taking into account that their leadership allowance should not be reduced. The following table is provided to assist Teachers and Schools in the ACT to align Leadership positions.   • New Positions The Board, in consultation with the Association, shall prepare a new job description whenever a new position of special responsibility is created or whenever the duties of any such position are changed or increased. When such a position is created or changed, the allowance shall be subject to negotiations between the Board and the Association.
