Common use of Public Office Leave Clause in Contracts

Public Office Leave. The Employer recognizes the rights of Employees to participate in public affairs. Therefore, upon written request, the Employer shall grant leave of absence without pay to enable Employees to be candidates in federal, provincial or municipal elections. If elected, the Employee shall be granted a leave of absence for one (1) full term of office, and the Employer may post the position for the full term of office, notwithstanding the twelve (12) month limitation in Article 17.1.

Public Office Leave. The Employer recognizes the rights Employees, who are elected to Federal or Provincial Office, and, who are required to be absent from work because of Employees to participate in public affairs. Thereforetheir elected duties, shall, upon written requestapplication to the Employer, the Employer shall grant be granted sufficient time on leave of absence without pay to enable Employees to be candidates in federal, provincial or municipal electionscomply with their duties. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence for one (1) full term of office, and the Employer may post the position for the full term of office, notwithstanding the twelve (12) month limitation in Article 17.1absence.

If elected, the Employee shall be granted a leave of absence elective office for one up to and including eight (1) full term of office, and 8) weeks provided written notice is given to the Employer may post the position for the full term a minimum of office, notwithstanding the twelve (12) month limitation in Article 17.1.two
