Exchange Leave. An employee holding a regular or continuous appointment may exchange her/his position and responsibilities with a qualified person from another institution for a fixed period of time with the agreement of the employee's Department and the employer. The employee will continue to receive regular salary and benefits for the duration of the exchange. The exchanging individual will be paid by her/his institutional employer. Where there are large inequities in cost of living between the location of the exchanging individual, the employer and the employee may discuss whether further assistance is required to facilitate the exchange.

Exchange Leave. 9.12.1 For the purpose of Exchange Leave, “institution” refers to College of New Caledonia, College of the Rockies, Capilano University, Xxxxxxx College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Vancouver Island University College, North Island College, Northern Lights College, Northwest Community College, Okanagan College, Selkirk College, University of the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Community College. Request for leave shall be made with sufficient notice to enable the College to assess the qualifications of the incoming exchanging individual and to ensure that other necessary arrangements are appropriately in place. 9.12.2 A faculty member holding a regular or continuing appointment may exchange her/his position and responsibilities with a qualified person from another institution for a fixed period of time with the agreement of the faculty member’s Department and the College. 9.12.3 The faculty member will continue to receive regular salary and benefits for the duration of the exchange. The exchanging individual will be paid by her/his institutional employer. 9.12.4 Where there are large inequities in cost of living between the location of the exchanging individual, the College and the faculty member may discuss whether further assistance is required to facilitate the exchange.
Exchange Leave. 21.06.1 A Regular Faculty Member may, with the agreement of the Vice President Academic, after consultation with Faculty Member’s program area, exchange their position and responsibilities with a qualified person from another institution for a fixed period of time. 21.06.2 A request for exchange shall be considered for approval only if the exchange is of benefit to both the University and the Faculty Member. 21.06.3 The Faculty Member will continue to receive their salary and benefits for the duration of the exchange. 21.06.4 The exchange shall be at no additional cost to the University. All costs and pay for the exchanging individual shall be borne by the individual’s institution.

The incoming employee will be paid by his/her institutional employer. 47.9.3 Where there are large inequities in cost of living between the locations of the exchanging individuals, the employer and the employee may discuss whether further assistance is required to facilitate the exchange. 47.9.4 As a condition of granting the exchange leave, the incoming employee must agree to be an associate member of the Association and must sign a statement to the effect that he or she shall abide by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. 47.9.5 OC shall extend to the incoming employee all non-monetary benefits of this Agreement.
Exchange Leave. An Exchange Leave is required for a Member's participation in an exchange program with another institution. In such instances, the Member is replaced by a professional librarian or archivist from the other institution. While on an Exchange Leave, a Member's distribution of Responsibilities remains the same as if the Member were not on Leave, unless arrangements have been made under the Article Alternative Workload.
Exchange Leave. A full-time Unit Member may make written application to the Superintendent/President to participate in a qualified exchange program, as defined in Section 87422 of the Education Code of the State of California. Such application shall be submitted during the fall semester of the year preceding that for which the exchange is to take place. The application shall set forth the advantages to be accrued to the District and to the faculty member by participation in such an exchange program. If granted by the District, the leave will be dependent upon the execution of an agreement between the District and the exchange institution which will be in compliance with the regulations of Sections 87422, 87423 and 87424 of the Education Code of the State of California concerning such leaves. The leave may not exceed one (1) year, except by the mutual consent of the Unit Member and the District, the leave may be extended to two (2) years. The faculty member must provide the District with two (2) full years of service after returning from such a leave before he/she is eligible for another such leave. The compensation and benefits provided to a Unit Member participating in an exchange will be determined by the exchange agreement and requires the approval of the Governing Board of the District.
Exchange Leave. An employee may negotiate with the College to exchange positions with an employee of comparable qualifications and experience from outside the College for a period of up to one (1) year. Applications shall be made to the Human Resources Department.

Exchange Leave. 56.1 An Employee Exchange Committee shall be established consisting of two members appointed by OC and two members appointed by the Union who shall be employees on regular appointments. This Committee shall meet no later than 10 working days following the call of either party. (a) Employees on regular full-time appointments who have been employed by OC for three years or more and are not on probation may initiate negotiations on their own to exchange positions with an individual of comparable qualifications and experience for one year. (b) Applications from employees on regular part-time or sessional appointments will be considered for approval on an individual basis. 56.3 Exchange leave shall be subject to the following conditions: (a) Employees granted exchange leave shall have their full salary and benefits paid by OC during the exchange period. (b) The exchange time shall count in full for increment and seniority purposes. (c) Exchange leaves shall normally be for one year with the possibility of leaves of six months to one year if within the BC college system. (d) Only one employee or 10% of staff within a department, whichever is greater, shall normally be on exchange leave at any given time. (e) Incoming employees must agree to take out an associate membership in the Union and must sign a statement to the effect that they will abide by the conditions and procedures laid down in the Agreement. (f) OC shall extend to the incoming employees all non-monetary benefits of the Agreement. (g) Whatever would normally constitute grounds for dismissal or suspension under the Agreement shall be considered grounds for the termination of the exchange agreement. (h) Employees applying for exchange and OC shall normally adhere to the following time schedule: (1) At least one year before the commencement of the proposed leave, employees wishing to take an exchange leave shall notify the OC President and designated supervisor, in writing, of their intention to negotiate an exchange leave. The President will forward the application to the Employee Exchange Committee which shall review the application and the effect the leave would have on OC operations. This process shall include consultation with the designated supervisor and the employees in the area concerned. The Committee will submit its recommendation to the OC President in respect of the candidate to be granted exchange leave. The President will notify the employee(s) of the preliminary decision of OC. The application shall describe in detail the duration, nature and expected benefits of the exchange, including any provisions for evaluation during and after the exchange, and shall include the curriculum vitae of the other participant.
