Such period shall be for the purpose of determining the employee's ability to perform satisfactorily the duties prescribed for the position.

Purpose of Probation. The probationary period shall be regarded as part of the testing process and shall be utilized for closely observing the employee's work, for securing the most effective adjustment of new employees to their new positions, and for rejecting any probationary employee whose performance does not meet the required standards of work.
