Rate for Working on Sunday and Public Holiday Shifts. (a) The rate at which continuous shift workers are to be paid for work on a rostered shift the major portion of which is performed on a Sunday or public holiday, is double time. (b) The rate at which shift workers on other than continuous work are to be paid for all time worked on a Sunday or public holiday is as follows: (i) Sundays - at the rate of double time (ii) Public Holidays - at the rate of double time and a half. (c) Where shifts commence between 11.00pm and midnight on a Sunday or public holiday, the time so worked before midnight does not entitle the employee to the Sunday or public holiday rate for the shift. However, the time worked by an employee on a shift commencing before midnight on the day preceding a Sunday or public holiday and extending into the Sunday or public holiday shall be regarded as time worked on the Sunday or public holiday. (d) Where shifts fall partly on a holiday, the shift which has the major portion falling on the public holiday shall be regarded as the holiday shift. (e) The extra rates in this subclause are in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift premiums prescribed in 23.2.
Rate for Working on Sunday and Public Holiday Shifts. (a) The rate at which Afternoon or Night Shift Employees are to be paid for work on a rostered shift the major portion of which is performed on a Sunday or public holiday, is 200% of the Employee’s ordinary rate of pay. (b) The rate at which shift Employees on other than Afternoon or Night Shift Employees are to be paid for all time worked on a Sunday or public holiday is as follows: (i) Sundays - at the rate of 200% of the Employee’s ordinary rate of pay; (ii) Public Holidays - at the rate of 250% of the Employee’s ordinary rate of pay. (c) Where shifts fall partly on a Sunday or a holiday, the shift which has the major portion falling on the Sunday or public holiday shall be regarded as the Sunday or holiday shift. By agreement between the employer and the majority of Employees concerned, the shift which has the minor portion falling on the Sunday or public holiday may be regarded as the holiday shift in lieu of the above. (d) The extra rates in this subclause are in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift premiums prescribed in subclause 12.3 and/or 12.4.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • LEAVE AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 38 Annual Leave 38.1 Employees (other than casuals) will be entitled to 4 weeks paid annual leave per annum, provided that Continuous Shiftworkers shall be entitled to one additional week’s paid annual leave. 38.2 An Employee’s entitlement to paid annual leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the Employee’s ordinary hours of work, and accumulates from year to year. 38.3 The Employer must maintain a leave accrual system that accurately accrues annual leave progressively throughout the year in accordance with this Agreement. 38.4 Annual Leave is paid at the Ordinary Rate being paid to the Employee immediately prior to the taking of the Annual Leave, plus 17.5% loading. 38.5 Taking of Annual leave (a) Other than the Easter and Christmas Shutdown outlined in clause 38.7, the Employer and Employee shall seek to reach agreement on the taking of annual leave at a mutually convenient time. The Employer will not otherwise unreasonably refuse an Employee’s request to take annual leave. (b) The Employer cannot otherwise direct an Employee to take Annual Leave unless the Employer directs an Employee to take excessive accrued Annual Leave in accordance with clauses 38.6 – 38.8 of the Award.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work Week: Five (5) consecutive days per week, Sunday to Saturday. Work Day: Seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours per day. Any shift starting after 12:01 p.m. will receive a shift premium in accordance with Article 13.01 ii).

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.
