RATE OF COMPENSATION UPON RETURN TO CITY SERVICE. ‌ a. An employee recalled after layoff, reinstated after a leave of absence, or reemployed in the same classification after resignation shall return to the same salary step paid and shall be credited with the duration of time spent in their salary step paid at the time of departure. The period of time separated from City service shall not be included in the calculation of the anniversary date for future in-grade salary adjustments. b. If the employee is reemployed after resignation to a classification lower than that in which last employed, the employee may receive any step, but not to exceed the salary of the classification in which last employed. If that step is other than the maximum step of the salary range, the anniversary date for subsequent in-grade adjustments shall be twelve (12) months from the date of reemployment and each year thereafter until the maximum step of the salary range is reached.

  • Rate of Compensation In lieu of direct compensation for all overtime, shift work and standby (as defined in Articles 16, 17 and 18 of this Agreement), regular full-time employees shall receive a special compensation of 7% of their basic salary earned for each calendar year. This special compensation shall not be considered part of the employee's basic salary for the purpose of calculating any benefits or other premium entitlements.
