Rest Breaks Between Rostered Shifts a. The roster or rosters shall be drawn up so as to provide: (i) until the day clause (ii) becomes operational --- at least eight hours off duty between successive ordinary hour shifts, and (ii) from the date of the first roster posted following 4 weeks from the date this Agreement comes into operation --- at least ten hours off duty between successive ordinary hour shifts. 57A 10 Hour Break Not Given 57A.1 Ordinary shifts without 10 hour break a. be released from duty without loss of pay until the Employee has had 10 consecutive hours off duty, or b. be paid at the rate of double time until released from duty for such rest period, where the Employee is required to work without a 10 hour break on the instructions of the Employer.
Rest Breaks Between Rostered Shifts. (a) An Employee will be allowed a break of not less than 10 hours between the end of one shift or period of work and the start of another; provided that this clause does not apply to day shifts that are worked wholly within the spread of hours set by clause 27.2(a) that are four hours or less duration. (b) Notwithstanding clause 27.8(a), by mutual agreement, an employee will not be required to have a rest break between: (i) the end of a shift and the commencement of a shift immediately before the start of a sleepover; or (ii) a shift commencing after the end of a shift immediately after a sleepover, on the basis that an employee rostered for a sleepover can generally expect to sleep during the sleepover period and resume duty rested. Where there are multiple disturbances or a lengthy disturbance during a sleepover shift, consultation to ensure fatigue is managed is required. (iii) For the avoidance of doubt, employees are not entitled to the broken shift allowance when performing an additional separate shift as prescribed in this clause.

  • Minimum Break between Shifts (a) Where it is necessary to work extended overtime, it is agreed that no Employee shall resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty between the termination of the overtime and the commencement of the Employee’s ordinary work on the next day or shift. (b) In the event that an Employee agrees to a request from site management to resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty, the Employee shall be paid at double ordinary time rates until the Employee is released from duty for such period.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Rest Between Shifts Article 7.10 of the Agreement applies in its entirety, except that the length of the rest period shall be eight (8) hours rather than eleven (11) hours, and beginning September 1, 2020, shall be ten (10) hours, rather than twelve (12) hours.

  • Rest Period After Overtime (a) When overtime work is necessary, it will, wherever reasonably practicable, be so arranged that employees have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days or shifts, including overtime. (b) An employee, other than a casual employee, who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on one day and the commencement of their ordinary work on the next day, that they have not had at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between those times, will be released after completion of such overtime, until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such a absence. (c) If, on the instruction of the employer, an employee resumes or continues to work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, they will be paid at the rate of double time until released from duty for such period. The employee will then be entitled to be absent until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for rostered ordinary hours occurring during the absence.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Hour Shift An eight (8) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid one-half (1/2) hour meal period, and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Hours of Service The minimum number of Hours of Service an Employee must complete during a vesting computation period to receive credit for a Year of Service is: (Choose (c) or (d)) [X] (c) 1,000 Hours of Service.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Shifts In the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Agency may schedule nursing personnel on a rotational shift basis for a temporary period during the opening of new facilities. The Agency shall not schedule any employee to rotate more than two (2) different shifts in any four (4) week scheduling period. Exceptions may be mutually agreed to by the parties. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.

  • Time Off Between Shifts Failure to provide the minimum number of hours between the commencement of an employee's scheduled shift and the commencement of such employee's next scheduled shift shall result in payment of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate for only those hours which reduce the minimum hour period. Where the minimum period is reduced as a result of an approved change of shift(s) requested by the employee(s), such premium payment shall not apply. The minimum number of hours for purposes of this Article shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
