Rest Between Shifts. Article 7.10 of the Agreement applies in its entirety, except that the length of the rest period shall be eight (8) hours rather than eleven (11) hours, and beginning September 1, 2020, shall be ten (10) hours, rather than twelve (12) hours.

Rest Between Shifts. In scheduling work assignments, the Employer will make a good faith effort to provide each employee with at least twelve (12) hours off duty between shifts. In the event an employee is required to work with less than twelve (12) hours off duty between shifts, all time worked within this twelve (12) hour period shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the regular rate of pay.
Rest Between Shifts. It is intended that every employee should have eight (8) hours' rest between shifts. In the event that an employee is recalled to work before such eight (8) full hours elapse, he shall be paid the appropriate overtime rates for work performed after recall. No employee shall be permitted to resume work on his own accord until eight (8) full hours have elapsed.

Nurses who work twelve hour shifts will qualify to receive rest between shift premium if they do not receive ten and one-half (10-1/2) hours rest between regularly scheduled shifts. This includes time worked from call back or standby situations. Nurses who work eight (8) or ten (10) hour shifts will receive rest between shift premium if they do not receive twelve (12) hours rest between regularly scheduled shifts. Nurses who are called back to work, whether or not the nurse was on standby, will qualify for rest between shift premium if the work performed from standby or call back results in the nurse not receiving twelve (12) hours unbroken rest (10-1/2 hours if the nurse is a twelve (12) hour shift nurse) before the start of the nurse's next regularly scheduled shift.

Rest Between Shifts. There shall be at least ten (10) hours between scheduled shifts (excluding overtime) unless otherwise agreed between the employee and his/her supervisor. Where ten (10) hours of rest (excluding overtime) are not provided the employee shall receive pay at time and one-half for each hour of the scheduled shift which infringes on the ten (10) hour rest period.
