Schedule and Shift Changes Sample Clauses

Schedule and Shift Changes. The Union and the School recognize that the different operations covered by this Agreement have varying schedules and shifts to meet the needs and provide service to the School. A schedule is defined as the days on to be worked and the days off to be away from work. A shift is defined as the start and end time of the work day. A full-time schedule shall consist of forty (40) hours of scheduled work with a minimum of two (2) days off. When the needs of the School so require, the starting time of shifts may be scheduled up to two hours earlier and/or two hours later than existing starting times with a one-day notice, when practical. The School will provide a one week notice of a shift and/or schedule change, however, if the circumstances are such that a one week notice is not practical, the Union shall waive this notice. Full-time employees hired prior to April 1, 2004 will be grandfathered in their current work schedule/shift, with two (2) consecutive days off, unless the Union and the School mutually agree to an alternate schedule. The School reserves the right to alter work schedules and shifts for all non-grandfathered employees (those employees hired on or after April 1, 2004) to meet the needs of the School. Each affected department will post the revised work schedule and shift with a 30 calendar day notice of the change if practical. If circumstances are such that a 30 calendar day notice is not practical, the School will provide as much notice as is reasonably practical, and the Union shall waive this notice.
