Alternate Schedule. The Employee Relations Division of the Department of Human Resources may authorize any department head, board or commission to meet and confer with an employee, group of employees, or their representatives on proposals offered by the employee, group of employees, or their representatives or the department relating to alternate scheduling of working hours for all or part of a department. Such proposals may include but are not limited to core-hour flex time, full time work weeks of less than five (5) days, work days of less than eight (8) hours or a combination of plans which are mutually agreeable to the employee, group of employees, and their representatives and the department concerned. Any such agreement shall be submitted to the Mayor's Budget Office for its approval or rejection.

Alternate Schedule. Agreed that when a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, or scheduled day off, the closest workday, mutually acceptable by employee and Company, will be observed as the holiday, except where observance on a specific day is dictated by the Government. Alternate Schedule. If the University adopts an alternate schedule for law enforcement personnel that involves an 11-hour schedule that repeats over an eight (8) day period, employees working the affected schedule will be moved to a twenty- four (24) day work period (as permitted under Section 7(k) of the Fair Labor Standards Act) for the duration of their assignment to the 11-hour schedule. To account for the reduced annual work hours associated with this alternate schedule, law enforcement personnel will be scheduled by the University to work seventy- two (72) make-up hours during the course of the year. Make-up hours will be scheduled in blocks of no less than four (4) and no more than eleven (11) hours in length, and will be scheduled with nine (9) calendar dayswritten notice. The day that notification is given is considered the first day of notice. Unless otherwise agreed, make-up hours will not be used to staff events where an external entity is expected to reimburse the staffing costs. Make-up hours are compensated by the employee’s normal salary, and will not result in additional hourly compensation.

Alternate Schedule. When mutually agreed by the Sheriff and the employee or employees, a four day, ten hour work schedule at the employee's regular straight time rate may be sched- uled in place of the normal work week. When employees are assigned to a four/ten schedule and a holiday occurs, such holiday shall be paid at eight hours for the holiday. Employees may use two hours of accrued vacation, or compensatory time, or may be scheduled for an additional two hours of work in order to provide for a forty hours of compensation in that work week.
