Section 10.5.1. 26 Employees with the earliest hire date shall have preferential rights regarding shift selection, 27 vacation periods, overtime opportunities, promotions, assignment to new or open jobs or 28 positions, and layoffs when the ability and performance are substantially equal with junior 29 employees and/or other candidates. Overtime in the transportation classification is subject to the 30 terms of Article VII, Section 7.7.2.1.

Section 10.5.1. 44 In the event an employee works an assignment within the District which is not covered by this 45 Agreement, seniority shall not be lost; however, seniority shall not accrue during the period 46 while in said assignment.
Section 10.5.1. 27 An employee who acquires a position with a specific beginning and ending date, in any given 28 school year, will use the hours prior to acquiring the temporary position for bumping purposes. 30 If an employee is awarded a temporary position, he/she will be returned to his/her original 31 position at the conclusion of the temporary job. The employee’s original position may be filled 32 by a substitute for the duration of the temporary position. 34 Should the temporary position be filled by a substitute, a seniority date for the substitute will 35 not be assigned.
