Section 9.2. Bereavement Leave. 29 Each employee shall be entitled up to five (5) days leave with pay, with two (2) days with pay 30 additional on request for extended travel, for absence caused by death to an employee's child, step- 31 child, spouse, parent, substitute parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, sibling-in-law, grandchildren, 32 or parent-in-law, or relative living in the employee's place of abode. Such bereavement leave shall not 33 be deducted from sick leave. Bereavement leave is non-cumulative. Any additional requested 34 bereavement leave will come out of the employee’s sick/emergency leave and/or shared leave bank.
Section 9.2. Bereavement Leave. 40 Each employee shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) days leave with pay for absence caused by 41 death in the immediate family. Immediate family includes; spouse, parent, parent-in-law, sibling, step 42 sibling, child, xxxxxxxxx, grandparent, grandchild, significant other or member of household. 43 Bereavement leave is noncumulative and shall not be deducted from Illness, Injury and Emergency 44 Leave. One (1) day of bereavement leave will be granted, per year, for other family and non-family.

Bereavement Leave. 35 Each employee shall be entitled to a maximum of five (5) days leave, per occurrence, for absence 36 caused by death or imminent death of an employee’s child, spouse, domestic partner, parent, step- 37 parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, parent-in-law or a person living in the household as a family 38 member. One additional day per year shall be granted for the death of a close friend. Such bereavement 39 leave shall not be deducted from sick leave. Bereavement leave is non-cumulative. Employees shall, 40 upon request, be granted sick leave for the serious illness of a member of the family as described 41 herein.

Bereavement Leave. 5 Each employee shall be entitled to a maximum of five (5) days leave with pay per occurrence for 6 absence caused by the death of an employee’s immediate family member. For the purposes of this 7 section, immediate family shall mean spouse, domestic partner, parent, stepparent, mother-in-law, 8 father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparent, grandchildren sibling, or those of the 9 employee’s spouse, or a person living in the same household as the employee. The District shall grant 11 or step-relations and one (1) day per occurrence of bereavement leave in cases involving friends, 12 students or colleagues. Bereavement leave shall not be deducted from sick leave. Bereavement leave is 13 non-cumulative. Additional bereavement leave may be granted with superintendent approval as 14 emergency leave and deducted from sick leave.
Section 9.2. An 4 employee may request bereavement leave for other people not listed above. This request would be made 5 to the building Principle and/or the Superintendent. Such bereavement leave shall not be deducted from 6 sick leave. Bereavement leave is non-cumulative.
Section 9.2. Bereavement Leave. 33 For the purpose of this Section, family will be defined as spouse, fiancé, parent, step-parent, xxxxxx- 34 parent, sibling, step-sibling, xxxxxx-sibling, child, step-child, xxxxxx-child, grandparents, grandchildren, 35 aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin and/or one who lives in the immediate household. If the absence is 36 due to a death of a family member, corresponding in-laws will be added to the definition of family.

Bereavement leave is non-cumulative. 21 Employees shall be entitled to a maximum of one (1) day leave with pay per occurrence for absence 22 caused by death of a close friend. This Bereavement leave shall be deducted from sick leave and is 23 non-cumulative. 25 In unusual cases where extreme hardship is evident or extensive travel is required the District may grant 26 Bereavement leave in addition to the days specified above. Employees must provide relationship to 27 deceased when applying for leave.
