Shift/Days Off Rotation a. Food Service Coordinators having completed trial service may bid and then rotate to work either AM or PM shift in order of seniority. For purposes of this Section, seniority shall be defined as Agency time in class as a Food Service Coordinator. If two (2) or more employees have the same time in class, seniority shall then be determined by lottery draw. The mechanics of how the lottery draw takes place shall be mutually agreed upon between the Institution and the Union. b. Employees shall initially bid into either the AM or PM shift as listed below. The employee shall work in the specific shift/days off for six (6) months. Thereafter, the employee shall rotate to the next shift/days off below. Once the employee reaches the bottom of the shift/days off options, they will rotate to the top of the shift/days off options. Shift rotations will take place on the first (1st) Sunday in January and July of each calendar year. c. If an employee wishes to move from an AM shift to a PM shift or vice versa, they will indicate their interest so long as there is a vacancy for that shift/days off option. Thereafter, they will rotate other shift/days off as provided for in Subsection (b) above. d. Each rotation will have an AM and PM shift. If an employee wishes to move from an AM shift to a PM shift or vice versa, they will indicate their interest so long as there is a vacancy for that shift/days off option. Thereafter, they will rotate other shift/days off as provided for in Subsection (b) above.

  • Shift Rotation Routine shift rotation is not an approach to staffing endorsed by the Employer. Except for emergency situations where it may be necessary to provide safe patient care, shift rotation will not be utilized without mutual consent. If such an occasion should ever occur, volunteers will be sought first. If no one volunteers, the Employer will rotate shifts on an inverse seniority basis until the staff vacancies are filled.

  • Rostered Days Off 38.1 The ordinary working hours shall be worked in a ten (10) day/two (2) week cycle, Monday to Friday inclusive with eight (8) hours worked on each of nine days within the cycle and with 0.8 of an hour on each of those days accruing toward the tenth day, which shall be taken as a paid day off. The tenth day will be known as the Rostered Day Off or (RDO). 38.2 RDOs are paid at the ordinary time rate paid to Employees at the time of taking the RDO and will include the daily ‘Fares & Travelling Allowance’, and any applicable Site Allowance as prescribed by this Agreement. 38.3 For clarity, 26 RDOs will be accrued by an Employee in each twelve months continuous service. The Employer must maintain a RDO accrual system that accurately records the accrual of RDOs in accordance with this Agreement. 38.4 Each day of paid leave taken and any public holiday occurring during any cycle of two weeks will be a day worked for accrual purposes. 38.5 Upon commencement of employment, Employees who have not worked a complete ten (10) day/two (2) week cycle, will receive pro-rata accrual entitlements for the first RDO or group of RDOs falling after their commencement of employment. An Employer and Employee may agree to RDO accruals in advance in instances where the Employee does not have sufficient RDO accruals when an RDO falls due. 38.6 Upon termination of employment, an adjustment will be made to ensure that the full RDO entitlements, and no more, have been provided. This means that Employees then having received more RDOs than they were entitled to will have the relevant amount removed from final termination payments, and Employees who have received less than their full RDO entitlement will have the outstanding amount added to final termination payments.

  • Scheduled Days Off Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to return to his/her place of employment on his/her scheduled day off.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Scheduled Downtime For the purposes of this Agreement, Scheduled Downtime will mean those hours, as determined by us but which will not occur between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday without your authorization or unless exigent circumstances exist, during which time we will perform scheduled maintenance or adjustments to the Environment. We will use our best efforts to provide you with at least twenty-four (24) hours of notice prior to scheduling Scheduled Downtime.

  • Shiftwork (A) Where the Employee would have received shift loadings had the Employee not been on leave during the relevant period and such loadings would have entitled the Employee to a greater amount than a loading of 17.5% of the payment under clause 23.1(c), then the shift loadings must be added to the payment under clause 23.1(c)(i) instead of the 17.5% loading. (B) Provided further that if the shift allowance would have entitled the Employee to a lesser amount than the loading of 17.5% then such loading of 17.5% shall be used for the purpose of calculating annual leave loading in lieu of the shift allowance.

  • Rotation Where the Employer's designate and the Union's designate at the local level agree that shifts be rotated, the shifts shall be rotated on an equitable basis among the employees involved.

  • Time Off Between Shifts Failure to provide the minimum number of hours between the commencement of an employee's scheduled shift and the commencement of such employee's next scheduled shift shall result in payment of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate for only those hours which reduce the minimum hour period. Where the minimum period is reduced as a result of an approved change of shift(s) requested by the employee(s), such premium payment shall not apply. The minimum number of hours for purposes of this Article shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
