Shift Operations. Where the hours of operation require employees to be scheduled for work outside the standard hours listed in Clause 14.1, shift schedules shall be established by mutual agreement at the local level. The shift patterns shall be either five days on and two days off or four days on and two days off unless otherwise agreed to by the parties of this agreement. Once the shift pattern and the length of the meal period have been agreed to, the length of the workday will be as required to meet the annual hours outlined in Clause 14.1 of the agreement.

The shift patterns shall be either five days on and two days off or four days on and two days off unless otherwise agreed to by the Parties to this Agreement. Once the shift pattern and the length of the meal period have been agreed to, the length of the work day will be as required to meet the annual hours outlined in Clause 14.1 – Hours of Work of the Master Agreement. This clause shall not apply to those employees covered by Clauses 4.5 – Employees in Field Camps and 4.6 – Field Employees of this Agreement.

In the event the work is declined, the Company reserves the right to allocate the work in reverse order of seniority. Shift Operations. (89a) This paragraph is not intended to change any present practice, or preclude the re-adoption of a prior practice, whereby it is possible to schedule certain operations on a three-shift, eight hours of work per shift basis with special provisions for lunch. Where it is not possible or practicable on three-shift operations to establish schedules of 8 hours of work each shift, work shifts will be established on the basis of arrangements for a lunch period not in excess of 20 minutes being provided during the shift period without loss of pay. The above provisions shall not preclude necessary temporary variations in schedules. The above provisions shall not be applicable in any plant located in a state wherein a statute or administrative ruling requires the granting or establishment of lunch or meal periods of more than 20 minutes.
Shift Operations. (a) Anticipated daily hours of work may be staggered. Notwithstanding, the Employer will endeavour to create consistent and predictable shifts. Where necessary to meet the EFT hour commitment of an employee or to maintain provision of service, an employee may be temporarily reassigned to other work of another Community Office for which she/he is qualified. It is understood that such reassignment will only occur within a fifty (50) kilometre radius of the originating community office unless a greater distance is mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee. Should reassignment as contemplated above not be possible, the employee shall receive pay for the scheduled hours not worked. Travel time and mileage will be paid to the employee in accordance with the Collective Agreement. For purposes of clarity in scheduling and communication: • Cancelled assignments under (e) (i) below will be referred to as “cancelled assignments”; • Cancelled assignments under (e) (ii) below will be referred to as “adjusted assignments”; and • Cancelled assignments under (e) (iii) below will be referred as “rescheduled assignments”.
Shift Operations. Section 1. When an Employee has his/her shift changed during the work week he/she shall receive time and one-half for the first day of the new shift. When he/she returns to his/her original shift he/she receives only straight time. There shall be no time and one-half for any shift change occurring over the weekend. Shift assignment shall be by seniority in a classification. The Company shall give forty-eight (48) hours' notice to any Employee who is being transferred to another shift. Employees may exercise shift preference every twelve (12) months if so desired. Transfer must be made within a two (2) week period. An employee must have been employed one (1) year before exercising shift preference. Employees who will be so assigned by management to a different shift because of a need for skills and efficiency of the operation will do so for no more than 120 calendar days.
