Short-Notice Shift Premium. Full time, part time, and casual nurses who 9 agree to work previously unscheduled hours, with less than seventy-two hours’ notice shall 10 be paid their time-and-one-half rate for all extra hours worked, regardless of the total 11 number of hours worked in the work week or workday. The Short-Notice Shift Premium is 12 available only for those shifts that are open as a result of a call off for illness, injury, 13 bereavement leave or jury duty (for any days the nurse did not have advance notice) or 14 because of increased patient census within the last seventy-two (72) hours. The hospital 15 may offer a nurse an additional $10.00 per hour for all extra hours worked to encourage 16 nurses to work hours/shifts that are more difficult to fill 1 APPENDIX B – ALTERNATIVE SHIFT SCHEDULES
