SIERRA COLLEGE OF BEAUTY “SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY. The Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy is consistently applied to all students enrolled at the school. It is printed in the catalog to ensure that all students receive a copy prior to enrollment. The policy complies with the guidelines established by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) and the federal regulations established by the United States Department of Education. Students are provided with a copy of their progress report during the first week of every month. EVALUATION PERIODS Students are evaluated for Satisfactory Academic Progress at the following points in time as follows: Cosmetology 450, 900, 1350 actual clock hours attended Barbering 450, 900, 1350 actual clock hours attended Esthetics 300, 600 actual clock hours attended Manicuring 200, 400 actual clock hours attended *Students will receive a copy of their SAP progress report at the time of each Satisfactory Academic Progress determination point. *Transfer Students will be evaluated for Satisfactory Academic Progress at the midpoint of the contracted hours or the established evaluation periods, whichever comes first. Evaluations will determine if the student has met the minimum requirements for satisfactory academic progress. The frequency of evaluations ensures that students have had at least one evaluation by midpoint in the course. ATTENDANCE PROGRESS EVALUATIONS Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of the hours possible based on the applicable attendance schedule in order to be considered maintaining satisfactory attendance progress. Evaluations are conducted at the end of each evaluation period to determine if the student has met the minimum requirements. The attendance percentage is determined by dividing the total hours of actual attendance by the total number of hours scheduled. At the end of each evaluation period, the school will determine if the student has maintained at least 70% cumulative attendance since the beginning of the course, thus ensuring that, given the same attendance rate, the student is on schedule to graduate within the maximum time frame allowed.   • STATEWIDE ACHIEVEMENT TESTING When CONTRACTOR is a NPS, per implementation of Senate Bill 484, CONTRACTOR shall administer all Statewide assessments within the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (“CAASPP”), Desired Results Developmental Profile (“DRDP”), California Alternative Assessment (“CAA”), achievement and abilities tests (using LEA-authorized assessment instruments), the Fitness Gram, , the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (“ELPAC”), and as appropriate to the student, and mandated by LEA pursuant to LEA and state and federal guidelines. CONTRACTOR is subject to the alternative accountability system developed pursuant to Education Code section 52052, in the same manner as public schools. Each LEA student placed with CONTRACTOR by the LEA shall be tested by qualified staff of CONTRACTOR in accordance with that accountability program. XXX shall provide test administration training to CONTRACTOR’S qualified staff. CONTRACTOR shall attend LEA test training and comply with completion of all coding requirements as required by XXX.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.
