Cosmetology. This agreement, entered into for the 2020 graduates, is based on a review of the Cosmetology program of study at Mansfield Senior High School and the Associate of Technical Studies curriculum and syllabi at North Central State College. Purpose of Agreement This agreement is designed • To encourage secondary students to pursue a postsecondary education, • To reduce repetition of mastered competencies between secondary and postsecondary programs of study, • To provide a smooth transition from secondary to postsecondary, and • To reduce the cost of higher education for students and the state of Ohio. Tech Prep articulation agreements recognize a seamless curriculum pathway that starts in high school to an associate degree that leads to careers in related technical fields. This agreement enables graduates of Mansfield Senior High School who successfully complete the academic and technical competencies required for the Cosmetology program to receive college credit for certain courses in the Associate of Technical Studies program at North Central State College.

Cosmetology. The educational objective of this course is to train students in all phases of hair, skin and nails. The students are prepared to take the State Board Examination with confidence and successfully pass the examination. Students learn the skills to their proficiency level at each stage of their training: freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior. Students+ are required to achieve a 70% at each level in both theory and practical before they can pass to the next level. The students gain in confidence and ability to express themselves in a professional manner. Students learn first in the freshman and sophomore levels a standardized basic set of techniques in all practical operations. Once students have attained the basic levels of proficiency in the standard procedures, they are introduced to more advanced techniques. Cosmetology. Grades Course Open To: 11-12 Credit: 3.0 Prerequisite: None Fees: Course fee ranging from $1,800 to $7,500, which varies by cosmetology school and is subject to change Description: This course is open to students to attend a state-approved school of beauty culture. The professional school provides the facility, instruction and clinical training as prescribed by the Illinois Department of Registration and Education. Students must provide their own transportation. Program applications for first-year students must be completed in early January for the beauty school.
