SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any qualified Unit employee who is requested by the hearing impaired assistance center to utilize sign language shall receive compensation equal to two and three-quarter percent (2.75%) of their salary or wages for each business day the skill is utilized. Such practices of additional compensation shall be in accordance with LAAC Section 4.84.1.
SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any qualified employee covered by the provisions of the MOU who is requested by the hearing impaired assistance center to utilize sign language shall receive compensation equal to 2.75 percent of their salary or wages for each business day the skill is utilized. Such practices of additional compensation shall be in accordance with Section 4.84.1 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code.
SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any qualified employee covered by the provisions of the MOU who has been certified as proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide City services to the deaf community, and who is requested by the employing department to utilize ASL skills in the performance of their job duties, shall be compensated at the first premium level rate above their step rate of the salary range for their class for each business day the skill is utilized. Such premium pay shall be administered in accordance with and subject to all requirements and provisions of Section 4.84.1 of the LAAC. Additional compensation is non-pensionable.
SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any qualified employee who is covered by the provisions of this MOU and is requested by the Personnel Director to utilize sign language shall receive a sign language premium of 2.75% of the employee’s salary for each business day the skill is used. Such practices of additional compensation shall be in accordance with Section 4.84.1 of the LAAC. This compensation is non-pensionable.
SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any qualified Unit member who is requested by the Communications Assistance Center to employ sign language skills in the course of their work shall be compensated in accordance with LAAC Section 4.84.1.

Any qualified employee covered by the provisions of the MOU who is requested by the deaf-mute assistance center to utilize sign language shall receive compensation equal to one premium level rate (2.75%) of their salary or wages for each business day the skill is utilized. The Sign Language Premium Pay is not pensionable.
SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. Any employee who as part of their job, is required to use sign language shall be paid a premium as per the wage schedule.
