Skills & Abilities. If it is determined that the employee demonstrates the ability and the will to succeed in the Apprenticeship Program and the Employer is in need of the skill, then the Employer will contact the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and arrange a meeting with the proposed apprentice, the Ministry Consultant and Human Resources. The Employer hereby agrees that should the applicant be accepted into the Apprenticeship Program, the Employer shall pay the registration fee to the Ministry. The Employer shall pay each apprentice, who successfully completes their Certificate of Qualification a lump sum of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200) two (2) years after the date of their certification. The Company agrees to continue the payment of the benefit premiums as per Article 17.01 during the time an apprentice is attending trade school as if the apprentice was regularly working.

The Employer shall pay each employee, who successfully completes their Certificate of Qualification while employed by the Employer a lump sum of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) two (2) years after the date of their certification. Each Apprentice who successfully completes a term of trade school shall receive payment from the Employer of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) providing the employee returns to work at the first available opportunity.
