Specialised Committees. 1. The following specialised committees are hereby established under the auspices of the Trade Committee: (a) the Committee on Trade in Goods in accordance with Article 2.16 (Committee on Trade in Goods); (b) the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures in accordance with Article 5.10 (Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures); (c) the Customs Committee in accordance with Article 6.16 (Customs Committee). In matters exclusively covered by the Customs Agreement, the Customs Committee acts as the Joint Customs Cooperation Committee established under that Agreement; (d) the Committee on Trade in Services, Establishment and Electronic Commerce in accordance with Article 7.3 (Committee on Trade in Services, Establishment and Electronic Commerce); (e) the Committee on Trade and Sustainable Development in accordance with Article 13.12 (Institutional Mechanism); and (f) the Committee on Outward Processing Zones on the Korean Peninsula in accordance with Annex IV of the Protocol concerning the Definition of "Originating Products" and Methods of Administrative Cooperation. The remit and tasks of the specialised committees established are defined in the relevant chapters and protocols of this Agreement. 2. The Trade Committee may decide to establish other specialised committees in order to assist it in the performance of its tasks. The Trade Committee shall determine the composition, duties and functioning of the specialised committees established pursuant to this Article. 3. Unless otherwise provided for in this Agreement, the specialised committees shall normally meet, once a year, at an appropriate level, alternately in Brussels or Seoul, or at the request of either Party or of the Trade Committee and shall be co-chaired by representatives of Korea and the European Union. The specialised committees shall agree on their meeting schedule and set their agenda. 4. The specialised committees shall inform the Trade Committee of their schedule and agenda sufficiently in advance of their meetings. They shall report to the Trade Committee on their activities at each regular meeting of the Trade Committee. The creation or existence of a specialised committee shall not prevent either Party from bringing any matter directly to the Trade Committee. 5. The Trade Committee may decide to change or undertake the task assigned to a specialised committee or dissolve any specialised committee.

The composition, remit and tasks of the specialised committees referred to in paragraph 1 are defined in the relevant chapters and protocols of this Agreement and can be modified, if necessary, by decision of the Trade Committee. 3. Unless otherwise provided for in this Agreement or agreed by the Parties, the specialised committees shall meet once a year. They shall also meet at the request of either Party or of the Trade Committee. They shall be co-chaired, at an appropriate level, by representatives of the Union and Viet Nam. The meetings shall take place alternately in the Union and Viet Nam, or by any other appropriate means of communication as agreed between the Parties. The specialised committees shall agree on their meeting schedule and set their agenda by mutual consent. Each specialised committee may decide its own rules of procedure in the absence of which the rules of procedure of the Trade Committee shall apply mutatis mutandis. 4. The specialised committees may submit proposals for decisions to be adopted by the Trade Committee or take decisions when this Agreement so provides. 5. At the request of a Party, or upon a reference from the relevant specialised committee, or when preparing a discussion in the Trade Committee, the Committee on Trade in Goods may address matters arising in the areas of customs and sanitary and phytosanitary measures if this could facilitate the resolution of a matter that cannot otherwise be resolved by the relevant specialised committee. 6. The specialised committees shall inform the Trade Committee of their schedules and agenda sufficiently in advance of their meetings and shall report to the Trade Committee on results and conclusions of their meetings. The composition, remit, tasks and, as the case may be, functioning of the specialised committees shall be as defined in the relevant provisions of this Agreement or by the Trade Committee. 3. Unless otherwise provided for in this Agreement, the specialised committees shall normally meet every two years, at an appropriate level, alternately in the Union or Singapore, or without undue delay at the request of either Party or of the Trade Committee. They shall be co-chaired by representatives of Singapore and the Union. The specialised committees shall agree on their meeting schedule and set their agenda. 4. The specialised committees shall inform the Trade Committee of their schedule and agenda sufficiently in advance of their meetings. Each specialised committee may decide its own rules of procedures, in the absence of which the rules of procedure of the Trade Committee shall apply mutatis mutandis. 4. The specialised committees may make recommendations or submit proposals for decisions to be adopted by the Trade Committee. 5. The specialised committees shall inform the Trade Committee of their schedule and agenda sufficiently in advance of their meetings and shall report to the Trade Committee on the results and conclusions from each of their meetings. The creation or existence of a specialised committee shall not prevent a Party from bringing any matter directly to the Trade Committee. 6. Each Party shall ensure that when a specialised committee meets, all the competent authorities for each issue on the agenda are represented, as each Party deems appropriate, and that each issue can be discussed at the adequate level of expertise.
Specialised Committees. 1. The following specialised committees are hereby established, or in the case of the Joint Customs Cooperation Committee referred to in subparagraph (c), is granted authority to act under the auspices of the CETA Joint Committee: (a) the Committee on Trade in Goods, which addresses matters concerning trade in goods, tariffs, technical barriers to trade, the Protocol on the mutual acceptance of the results of conformity assessment and intellectual property rights related to goods. At the request of a Party, or upon a reference from the relevant specialised committee, or when preparing a discussion in the CETA Joint Committee, the Committee on Trade in Goods may also address matters arising in the area of rules of origin, origin procedures, customs and trade facilitation and border measures, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, government procurement, or regulatory cooperation, if this facilitates the resolution of a matter that cannot otherwise be resolved by the relevant specialised committee. The Committee on Agriculture, the Committee on Wines and Spirits, and the Joint Sectoral Group on Pharmaceuticals shall also be established under and report to the Committee on Trade in Goods; (b) the Committee on Services and Investment, which addresses matters concerning cross‑border trade in services, investment, temporary entry, electronic commerce, and intellectual property rights related to services. At the request of a Party, or upon a reference from the relevant specialised committee, or when preparing a discussion in the CETA Joint Committee, the Committee on Services and Investment may also address matters arising in the area of financial services or government procurement if this facilitates the resolution of a matter that cannot otherwise be resolved by the relevant specialised committee. A Joint Committee on Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications shall be established under and report to the Committee on Services and Investment; (c) the Joint Customs Cooperation Committee (JCCC), established under the 1998 Agreement between the European Community and Canada on Customs Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters, done at Ottawa on 4 December 1997, which addresses matters under this Agreement concerning rules of origin, origin procedures, customs and trade facilitation, border measures and temporary suspension of preferential tariff treatment; (d) the Joint Management Committee for Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, which addresses ma...

  • Committees The Parties agree on establishing Committees in the following matters: (a) Trade in Goods; (b) Trade in Services; (c) Investment; (d) Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; (e) Technical Barriers to Trade; (f) Trade Facilitation; (g) Rules of Origin; and (h) Cooperation, including Intellectual Property. 2. The Free Trade Commission may create additional Committees, if needed. The Committees on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade and Rules of Origin shall coordinate their tasks with those of the Committee on Trade in Goods.

  • Labour Management Committee (a) Where the parties mutually agree that there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour Management Committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply. (b) An equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. A request for a meeting hereunder will be made in writing prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of grievance or negotiations for the amendment or renewal of this agreement. Any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. (c) It is agreed that the topic of a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abuse is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. It is also agreed that the topic of the utilization of full-time and part-time staff is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. The committee shall have access to work schedules and job postings upon request. (d) It is understood that joint meetings with other Labour-Management Committees in the Hospital may be scheduled concerning issues of mutual interest if satisfactory to all concerned. (e) Where two or more agreements exist between a Hospital and CUPE the Committee may be a joint one representing employees under both agreements, unless otherwise agreed.
