Spousal Benefit. Effective July 1, 2000 the survivor benefit maximum shall be increased from 64% to 66 2/3rds. This improvement will apply to members whose pensions commence on or after July 1, 2000 and also to pensioners and surviving spouses in receipt of pensions.

Spousal Benefit. The City of Port Colborne will pay the benefits of a spouse, in the event of a Firefighter’s death up to the time they are remarried or can receive a comparable benefit program through their own employment or from another common-law relationship. This benefit will cease upon retirement age of 65. An annual questionnaire will be completed by the spouse to report benefits or changes in status. The benefits are provided as per Section 9.02 to Section 9.06 of this agreement with premiums to be paid by the Corporation on the Firefighter’s death whether eligible for compensations by the WSIB or not. Continuation of benefits are provided to the spouse and dependents who have, prior to the death of the firefighter, been admitted to the benefit plan. This would include any child born within 9 months. The dependent children will be covered for benefits as provided by the current carrier.
Spousal Benefit. Printpack shall pay to Employee's spouse an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of Employee's total cash compensation during Printpack's most recent fiscal year ending prior to the date of Employee's death. Such benefit will be paid as long as Employee's spouse may live.
Spousal Benefit. In the event an employee, who is eligible to retire dies prior to retirement, the District shall pay to the employee’s spouse either:
a. The benefit that would have been paid to the employee if s/he had elected to retire immediately before his/her death; or,

Any full-time certificated/licensed employee who chooses not to enroll in the hospitalization-surgical program provided by the Board due to duplication of coverage with his/her spouse’s family plan, (either acquired inside or outside the school system) shall be entitled to immediate family coverage enrollment in the provided plan upon his/her request, subject to the spousal exclusion and other applicable sections of the agreement. This benefit shall include any employee affected by the 270-day pregnancy clause if his/her spouse was enrolled in the family plan up to the day of the requested transfer of enrollment. Such employee shall suffer no loss of benefits through the implementation of this option.
