Status Quo Central Items. The parties agree that the following central issues have been addressed at the Central Table and that the provisions shall remain status quo. For further clarity, if language exists, the following items are to be retained as written in local collective agreements. As such the following issues shall not be subject to local bargaining or mid-term amendment between local parties. Disputes arising in respect of such provisions shall be subject to Section 43 of the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act. Issues:

Status Quo Central Items. For absence occasioned by the birth or adoption of a child, the Board shall grant, upon written request, a leave of absence without loss of salary for a period not exceeding one (1) day. Such request shall not unreasonably be denied. This leave shall not be deducted from the employee’s sick leave.
