Leave of Absence Without. PAY (a) Leave of Absence may be approved without pay. (i) A Leave of Absence of four (4) weeks (20 working days) or less shall be submitted in writing to the Manager/Chair. If approved, the Manager/Chair will notify the Employee and the Department of Human Resources in writing. (ii) A request for a Leave of Absence for a period longer than twenty (20) working days, shall be submitted in writing, through the Manager/Chair for approval by the appropriate Xxxx/Director. If approved by the Xxxx/Director, the Manager/Chair will notify the Employee and the Manager of Human Resources in writing. (b) An application for Leave of Absence will include a statement regarding the reason for the request, start date, and end date of the leave. The decision by the Manager/Chair and/or Xxxx/Director will be based on merit of the request and any operational disruption to the normal routine of the University. Requests shall not be unreasonably denied. (c) A false statement of application for a Leave of Absence may result in termination. (d) An Employee who is unable to return from a Leave of Absence of less than six months shall notify the University at least two (2) weeks prior to the intended date of return. If the leave of absence exceeds six months, four (4) weeks of prior notice shall be required. In extenuating circumstances, notification will be provided as soon as is possible. (e) When position abolishments are being considered, the University cannot guarantee the position held by an Employee on a Leave of Absence without Pay will not be abolished. (f) Service with the University continues to accrue for the duration of the Leave of Absence without Pay, up to a maximum of one (1) year, for the purposes of vacation entitlement and Employee award only. Employees do not accrue actual vacation hours while on Leave of Absence without Pay from the University.

Leave of Absence Without. Pay In instances where the work will not be seriously handicapped by the temporary absence of an employee, the Department Head, subject to approval of the City Manager, may grant a leave of absence without pay not to exceed ninety (90) calendar days. Requests for such leave must be in writing and must establish reasonable justification for approval of the request. Normally such leave will not be approved for any employee who is accepting employment outside the City service.

Leave of Absence Without. PAY - All paid leave must be exhausted prior to being granted leave without pay unless the employee is concurrently on a Family Care and Medical Leave or has reached the threshold for LTD eligibility. All paid leave must be exhausted prior to an employee being able to use catastrophic illness leave donations. Employees will not receive additional leave accruals while using catastrophic illness leave donations.

Leave of Absence Without. PAY 25.01 A part-time employee shall be entitled to request, in writing, one special two (2) week leave of absence, with- out pay, at a time mutually satisfactory to both parties which may be adjacent to her vacation, if sufficient notice is given to the Company. Such request shall be made to the Human Resources Department. A request for a longer period will not be unreasonably denied. If an employee’s request for leave is denied, the Company will notify the employee, in writing, concerning the reasons for such denial.

The employee will not be eligible for any benefits provided for in this agreement for any type of leave without pay. Benefits listed in Article may be continued at the request of the employee. The employee will be responsible for both the employee and Employer share of the premiums.
