Study Abroad. A student who studies abroad continues to make progress towards the degree. Consequently, the Plan is not put on hold while the student is on study abroad, and those terms count towards the maximum 8 regular session (fall and spring) terms. The student will be charged for study abroad according to the costs associated with the chosen study abroad program.
Study Abroad. It is the responsibility of students who are returning to the College from abroad to communicate their housing requests to the Office of Residence Life in advance of their return. Residence Life staff will attempt to accommodate students’ hall and room preferences; however, preferred assignments cannot be guaranteed. Students returning in January will be assigned to residence hall space based on class seniority.
Study Abroad. Residents may retain possession of their assignment while away by paying the associated room rate and fees for the entirety of their absence. Residents who choose not to pay for their room during their absence forfeit that specific assignment and agree to accept any room available at the time of their return to the halls. Residents who submit a Waiver Form for fall and who then cancel their contract for spring, but who remain enrolled will be charged the 80% penalty and will forfeit the prepayment. There will be no refund for unused Dining Dollar$ and un-issued Dining Dollar$ will be issued and billed at face value.
Study Abroad. Unless studying in an American school using the American grading system, district students who study abroad will receive credit/no credit on their district transcript. Students must provide an official transcript to their home school counseling office from the study abroad institution they attended. Subject Area Council Norms Each site has one voting subject area council member, filled by the department chair or a delegate if a department chair is unavailable. Others may attend the SAC, but unless they have been invited prior to the meeting to speak (which must be proposed by a SAC member and approved by the administrator assigned to the SAC), they are only allowed to observe, not participate. Summer School Students may drop or be dropped from a summer school class without academic penalty. Study Abroad. International Studies majors must have a study abroad experience, normally in a non-English speaking country, for at least ten weeks, including a minimum of eight weeks of study through an approved college- level institution. Many of the credits earned can be applied to the major. Students who attended high school in another country may petition the international studies advisory committee for exemption from the requirement for study abroad.
Study Abroad. Those students who wish to Study Abroad in their spring semester and be released of spring semester housing charges MUST inform the Office of Residence Life no later than November 15th of their plans. Notifications must be received in writing supported by acceptance documentation. In turn, those students approved for study abroad will then be required to sign Exit documentation declaring they understand what is required to be released of spring semester charges without penalty. Study Abroad. Students must notify the Office of Residence Life and be prepared to check out of their room during the check-out period prior to their departure. Failure to check out will result in financial penalties as stated in the occupancy agreement and may be subjected to disciplinary action.
