SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. Reductions not achieved through attrition may be made by the suspension of contracts.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. Reductions shall be made by suspending contracts. Those contracts to be suspended will be chosen as follows:
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. 2.01 Reductions not achieved through attrition will be made by first determining what positions or educational areas will be reduced, and next by determining which individuals will be affected. On a case by case basis, in lieu of suspending a contract in whole, a Board may suspend a contract in part, so that an individual is required to work a percentage of the time the employee otherwise is required to work under the contract and receives a commensurate percentage of the full compensation the employee otherwise would receive under the contract. Within each affected position or educational area, reductions shall proceed as follows:
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. Reduction will be made by suspension of contracts for unit members in each affected teaching area. Suspension of contracts shall mean that the unit member is placed in an inactive state of employment, in whole or in part. In circumstances when a contract is wholly suspended, the unit member shall not receive pay or benefits at Board expense8 or have any other rights or association with the District other than those that may exist in this Agreement or by law.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. 1. Reductions under this procedure, when unavoidable, will be effectuated at the beginning of the following school year; and shall be accomplished through the suspension of a teacher’s contract. Notice will be given on or before April 20.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. 1. Reductions under this procedure shall be accomplished through the suspension of a teacher's contract. The Superintendent shall notify the teacher and the Association in writing of his/her intention to recommend a contract suspension at least thirty (30) days prior to the Board meeting at which such recommendation is to be made. Such notice shall contain the reason for the recommendation.
2. The Treasurer shall notify the teacher in writing, within five (5) work days, of the Board action to suspend his/her contract.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. Reductions under this procedure will be effectuated at the beginning of the following school year and shall be accomplished through the suspension of a teacher's contract. Notice will be given on or before April 30. On a case-by-case basis, in lieu of suspending a contract in whole, the Board may suspend a contract in part so that an individual is required to work a percentage of the time the employee otherwise is required to work under the contract and receives a commensurate percentage of the full compensation the employee would receive under the contract. Any bargaining unit member subjected to a percentage reduction shall have priority in receiving full-time work when it becomes available.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. All teachers who are to be part of the plan, shall have their contracts renewed and the Board shall then proceed to suspend contracts for the reduction of staff. In suspending contracts of teachers within each teaching field affected by the reduction in force, teachers holding limited contracts in the area of certification/licensure shall be suspended first. No preference for seniority shall be given except when making a decision between teachers who have comparable evaluations.
a. For the purpose of this sub-section, a teacher is deemed a "part of the plan", if the sole reason for dissolving employment relationship between the Board of Education and such teacher is a reduction of force.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. All teachers who are to be part of the Reduction in Force plan shall have their contracts renewed, and the Board shall then proceed to suspend contracts for the reduction in staff. Contracts shall be suspended on the basis of evaluation. When evaluations are comparable, seniority lists within the teaching field affected shall be utilized as per Ohio Revised Code 3319.
SUSPENSION OF CONTRACTS. Regardless of seniority, no member within such field on continuing contract will be suspended until all such members on limited contract have first been suspended. In making any such reduction, the Board shall proceed to suspend contracts in accordance with the recommendation of the Superintendent of schools who shall, within each teaching field affected, give preference to teachers on continuing contracts. The Board shall not give preference to any teacher based on seniority, except when making a decision between teachers who have comparable evaluations.
