TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS. The parties recognize that technological developments, if they are to further the continued growth of the Graphic Communications Industry, place a responsibility upon the Company to explore and promote new markets, and require the co-operation of the Company and the Union in the development of new skills.
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS. Any other changes due to the fact that BUX B.V. has a reasonable interest in changing the conditions.

18.02 In order to insure the orderly and most advantageous introduction of new types of equipment and new processes, the parties agree to meet upon request of either party, to consider and develop programs for the retraining or rehabilitation of employees in new skills required, so as to avoid if possible layoffs resulting from the introduction of new types of equipment or new processes.
18.03 The employers agree to actively assist in retraining employees affected by technological change. Such assistance will include but not be limited to making such new technology accessible to affected persons through the Training Institute and its Director for in-plant training programs.

This Committee will be composed of three (3) members from each of the parties and may be enlarged by mutual consent providing the representation is equal at all times. The Committee will meet at the call of either party on seventy-two (72) hours notice.

14.02 In order to ensure the orderly and most advantageous introduction of new types of equipment and new processes, the parties agree to meet upon request of either party to consider and develop programs for the retraining or rehabilitation of employees in new skills required.
14.03 The Employer has the right to introduce technological change. Employees who were on staff as of October 13, 1978 will be the last to be laid off as a result of technological change. Any such lay-off shall be subject to the provisions of Article 9.03 (a).

Such assistance will include but not be limited to making such new technology accessible to affected persons through the Training Institute and its Director for in- Plant training programs. The Employer agrees to provide facilities and sufficient time without loss of regular weekly wages in order that the required number of Union members required by the Employer may become proficient in the operation of any new processes or equipment thereby enabling the Union to provide sufficient competent members to meet the intent of this Collective Agreement. This does not preclude members from voluntarily training on their own time.
18.04 The Employer and the Union agree to the establishment of an Industrial Advisory Committee. This Committee will be composed of three (3) members from each of the Parties and may be enlarged by mutual consent providing the representation is equal at all times. The Committee will meet at the call of either Party on seventy-two (72) hours notice. The Committee will have a broad scope in discussing and advising on items of interest to both Parties including technological developments, trends in the industry, etc. Its major role will be to afford the opportunity for discussion and consideration of the interest of both Parties to improve communications between the Parties.
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS. In recognition of the possible impact of technological developments upon the work force, the Employer and the Union agree to meet and confer on the implementation and impact of appropriate formalized training or retraining of employees in the development of new skills required by the introduction of significantly new equipment, process, and workload changes.

(a) The Employer agrees to actively assist in retraining employees affected by technological change. Such assistance will include but not be limited to making such new technology accessible to affected persons through the Training Institute and its Director for in-plant training programs.
(b) The Employer agrees to make every effort possible to provide facilities and sufficient time with no loss of regular weekly wages in order that the required number of employees become proficient in the operation of any new processes or equipment. This does not preclude employees from voluntary training on their own time.

Section 2. In order to insure the orderly and most advantageous introduction of new types of equipment and the new processes, the parties agree to meet upon request of either party to consider and develop programs for the retraining or rehabilitation of photoengraving and lithographic journeypersons in new skills so that there shall be an adequate availability of new skills required. The Union and the Employers shall make every effort to see that no layoffs occur as a result of the introduction of new types of equipment or processes.
