Temporary Absence from Program. This Section applies to all residential program categories except ESC. Any absences from ESC will constitute a new admission. (a) If a Child placed for residential treatment services with the Contractor runs away or otherwise leaves the facility without proper authorization or supervision, or is admitted to a hospital (this includes physical and acute psychiatric stays), the Contractor shall hold the bed available for the Child’s return for up to five (5) calendar days after the Child has been absent from the facility overnight, unless otherwise directed by the Placing Agency. If a Child has run away and is located within the five (5) day bed hold period and placed elsewhere, the bed hold will end as of the day the Child is placed elsewhere. The bed hold will end for a Child admitted to the hospital if the Child is discharged from the hospital within the five (5) days and placed elsewhere. Any subsequent bed holds requested within thirty days of the initial bed hold request requires the approval of the Deputy Director of Child Welfare Services or their designee. If the Child does not return to the program within five (5) consecutive days of absence, the Contractor will release the room or bed to which the Child was assigned and terminate the per diem charge for the Child at the facility. (b) To xxxx for a bed hold, Contractor must have documentation demonstrating the Contractor’s efforts to obtain verification of the Placing Agency’s intent for the Child to return to the facility. In lieu of the Placing Agency indicating intent to return the Child to the Contractor’s residential facility, appropriate documented effort(s), as so deemed solely by the DCS, will suffice for invoicing the bed hold. (c) If a Child placed for residential treatment services is absent due to being placed in a detention center, the Contractor shall not xxxx DCS for the days in detention. (d) If a Child placed for residential treatment services is absent due to home pass visits that follow the contractor’s policy for Discharge Planning, the Contractor may xxxx DCS for the days of the visits in increments up to five (5) consecutive days but not more than ten (10) nonconsecutive days in a 30 day time period. (e) If a Child placed for residential treatment services is absent for visitation reasons unrelated to Discharge Planning, as when due to having a DCS approved visit with parents, siblings, or other relatives, the Contractor may xxxx DCS for the days of the visit up to ten (10) con...

  • TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A. Members shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year. Such days of temporary leave must be taken as either one-half (1/2) or one (1) full working day. No personal leaves of absence shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays or vacations. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval. 1. Members are entitled to three (3) days personal leave annually subject to advance notice and approval secured from the Superintendent or designee. Personal leave means an activity that requires the member’s presence during the working day and is of such a nature that it cannot be attended to at a time when schools are not in session. Unused personal days shall be transferred to accumulated sick leave time on July 1st each year of this Agreement and all succeeding Agreements. 2. Up to five (5) working days at any one time shall be granted to members in the event of death of a member’s spouse, child, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, or any person with whom the member has made his/her home, and any other member of the immediate household. 3. In the case of the death of a near relative, defined as first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew, there shall be no deduction from personal leave entitlement of up to three (3) days, subject to advance notice to and approval of the Superintendent. 4. A member shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportable. 5. Any other leave of absence granted by the Board may be without pay. 6. No leave of absence with pay shall be granted due to the requirements of a second job. 7. Professional leave for such purposes as attending meetings, seminars and visiting other schools may be granted. 8. If a member is subpoenaed by a court of law to appear on behalf of the Board, such member shall do so without loss of pay.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK In case an employee is unavoidably kept from work he will not be discriminated against. An employee detained from work on account of sickness or for any other good cause must, if possible, advise the Xxxxxxx prior to the commencement of his/her shift.

  • TEMPORARY LEAVES OF ABSENCE A. Teachers will be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year:

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Temporary Leave Teachers who are members of UTW, at the request of UTW, shall be granted leave to participate in certain UTW activities subject to and in accordance with policies of the Board and administrative guidelines.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.
