Common use of Temporary Vacancy Clause in Contracts

Temporary Vacancy. (a) In the event of a temporary vacancy, due to the absence of a regular driver, such temporary vacancy shall be filled by a substitute bus driver. Temporary vacancies are deemed to be temporary as long as the regular driver is off the job, but is due or scheduled to report back to their regular run. (b) Any mid day runs needing to be subbed for more than five (5) work days shall be offered for seniority bidding. When it is determined that the regular driver will not be returning to their run or runs, those runs will then be considered to be vacant, and will be filled as specified in Section 2 and 7 of this Article.
