Common use of Temporary Vacancy Clause in Contracts

Temporary Vacancy. In the event of a vacancy resulting from the absence of a full-time employee for thirty (30) calendar days or more, or the expected absence of a full-time employee for a period of greater than thirty (30) calendar days, the Employer shall post such vacancy as a “temporary full-time position” as per Article 8.01. The incumbent shall receive the start rate of the full-time classification or whatever level on the scale that would provide such employee an increase and, in any event, and as the case may be, such employee shall not receive less increase thereafter than they would have received if such employee would have remained part-time employee. Upon return of the full-time employee or termination of the latest, the temporary employee will revert back to their former position and status.
