Time off for Union Stewards. A Union Xxxxxxx shall obtain the permission of his immediate supervisor before leaving his work to investigate with fellow employees, complaints of an urgent nature, to meet with local management for the purpose of dealing with grievances and to attend local meetings called by the management. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Time off for Union Stewards. Upon reasonable notice to the Employer, 32 union stewards shall be granted a reasonable amount of time, without loss of pay, during working 33 hours for the purpose of meeting with the Employer to represent employees during investigative 34 meetings, disciplinary meetings and grievance step meetings. Stewards shall not cancel clients for 35 such purposes, except with approval from their supervisor.
Time off for Union Stewards. 7.01 Local Union Stewards may investigate and settle grievances, attend Union Management Council, during working hours, for a reasonable length of time, provided however, that arrangement is made with the supervisor(s) subject to service requirements. All time granted accordingly, shall be recorded on the employee's time sheet and paid for by the Employer.

  • Time Off for Union Activities A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be granted in advance of the absence and in accordance with the Employer’s leave policies. Approval will not be granted if the absence interferes with the Employer’s ability to provide coverage during the requested time off or the operating needs of the agency cannot be met.

  • Union Stewards The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locally."

  • Time Off for Union Business Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority will be granted:

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION SHALL ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. The Employer agrees to provide the name, worksite phone number, and location of the new employee's xxxxxxx in the letter of hiring. Whenever the xxxxxxx is employed in the same work area as the new employee, the employee's immediate supervisor will introduce her to her xxxxxxx. The Employer agrees that a Union xxxxxxx will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for thirty (30) minutes sometime during the first thirty (30) days of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the benefits and duties of Union membership and the employee's responsibilities and obligations to the Employer and the Union.
