Union Conventions/Educational Sessions. (a) The Home shall grant leave of absence, without pay or loss of seniority, to one (1) employee at any one time to attend Union conventions or educational sessions. Where operationally feasible, up to two (2) employees will be granted leave to attend. Such leave shall be applied for at least three (3) weeks prior to the posting of the schedule, and all leave for all employees shall not exceed ten (10) working days per year.

It is understood that if there are two (2) employees from the same classification, the release of the second employee will be subject to operational requirements. Such leave must be applied for at least three (3) weeks in advance of posting the schedule, and all leave for all employees shall not exceed ten (10) working days per year. Stewards granted such leave of absence shall be permitted to switch shifts pursuant to Article 15.04 (e) with other qualified employees so as not to lose shifts. The Employer shall grant leave of absence up to four (4) days with pay per calendar year to Stewards to attend training or conference provided by the Union. The Employer will invoice the Union for the cost of wages and benefits.
