Unit Members Rights. Unit members shall have the absolute right to form, join, or participate in the organization(s) of their choice. Unit members also have the right to refuse to form, join, or participate in employee organizations. Accordingly, membership in the Association shall not be compulsory.‌

Unit Members Rights. A. No Unit member shall be disciplined or reprimanded without just cause. Any such action taken by the Board, or agent of representative thereof, shall be subject to the grievance procedure within set forth. B. Whenever any Unit member is required to appear before the Board or any committee or member thereof concerning any matter which could adversely affect the continuation of that Unit member in his/her office, position, or employment or the salary of any increments pertaining thereto, he/she shall be entitled to have a representative present to advise him/her and represent him/her during such meeting or interview. A notice of 48 hours shall be given before any member is required to appear before the Board. If mutually agreeable, this time line may be waived. C. Any complaints or criticism regarding an Administrator made to any member of the Administration by any parent, student, or other person which are or may be used in any manner in evaluating an Administrator shall be promptly investigated and called to the attention of the Administrator within a reasonable length of time.
Unit Members Rights. The private and personal life of any unit member when not representing, the School District is not within the purview of the Board of Education. Notwithstanding their employment, unit members shall be entitled to full rights of citizenship and no legal religious or legal political activities of any unit member or the lack thereof shall be grounds for discipline or discrimination with respect to the professional employment of such teacher.

Materials in personnel files of unit members which may serve as a basis for affecting the status of their employment are to be made available for the inspection of the unit member involved upon request. 2. Each unit member shall have the right to inspect such materials and copy such materials upon request, provided that the inspection is made at a time when such person is not actually required to render services to the District.

Upon request the Board will provide to the unit member or their representative documents and/or information related to any investigation and or complaint(s) filed against the unit member as allowed by applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Unit Members Rights. 14.1 The District and Association recognize the right of unit members to form, join and participate in lawful activities of employee organizations and the alternative right of unit members to refuse to form, join and participate in lawful Association activities. The District and Association agree that neither side will take adverse action against any unit member as a result of his/her forming, joining or participating or refusing to form, join or participate in lawful Association activities. 14.2 The Association has the right to consult with the Governing Board or its representative on the definition of educational objectives, the determination of the context of courses and curriculum, the selection of textbooks, and actions or changes in written Board policies and/or written administrative rules and regulations which affect employees covered by the Agreement. 14.3 The Association shall be provided with ten (10) days of release time with no loss of pay or benefits for Association general business, training, or leadership conferences sponsored by CTA/NEA. 14.4 Release time shall be provided for Association members for negotiations or processing grievances or PERB proceedings in which the Association is a legal participant.

C. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be construed to deny or restrict to any unit member such rights as he/she may have under New Jersey School Laws or other applicable laws and regulations. D. No unit member shall be disciplined, reprimanded, or reduced in compensation without just cause. Any such action asserted by the Board, or any agent or representative thereof, shall be subject to the grievance procedure herein set forth.

Unit Members Rights. A. No unit member shall be prevented from wearing pins or other identification, within reason, of membership in the Association or its affiliates. B. A unit member is entitled to inspect any records or files relating to him by appointment and within normal working hours.

Any suspension of a unit member pending charges shall be with pay. If a decision is rendered in behalf of the Xxxxxx Township School District or against a particular party, all monies shall be repaid from the day of suspension to the date of complete repayment. (Interest to be fixed at prevailing bank rates.) C. An employee shall receive a copy of any materials placed into his/her file. The employee may submit written material in response to any materials placed in the file. This response must be received by the Superintendent or his/her designee no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after the employee received the materials. Said response shall be included in the personnel file.
