Wearing of Uniform. Uniform items provided by the Employer and items which identify the individual as a CBJ Employee shall be worn only with the permission of the Police Chief, in the performance of assigned job duties or when traveling directly from place of residence to work and traveling directly from work to place of residence.

Wearing of Uniform. No employee covered by this Agreement shall be required to wear a uniform to and from work. An employee may, at his own choosing, wear the standard work uniform to and from work.

Prescription eyeglasses, clothing and other personal items that are, or have been, approved by the Chief of Police, or designee that are damaged or destroyed in the line of duty (not as a result of the employee's negligence) shall be repaired or replaced at market value by the City except where such property is covered by insurance; in which event, the City shall be responsible for that portion of the repair or replacement cost not compensated by insurance.

The wearing of the uniform hat is at the officer’s discretion, but the Chief may require the wearing of a hat at certain time and for certain events or occasions. The wearing of other Police clothing shall be at the discretion of the Chief of Police. The wearing of winter long sleeves shirts for all officers of the bargaining unit, including patrol, detectives, and other divisions as well shall be between November 1st through March 31st. When an appearance is needed for court, officers shall wear a suit and coat of their duty uniform of the day.
