WEEKEND NURSE. In the event that the Employer wishes to introduce a Weekend Nurse position, the provisions of the Acute Care Collective Agreement shall form the basis of the applicable position for this Employer.

WEEKEND NURSE. 1. A Weekend Nurse Schedule may be implemented in order to meet the Employer’s need for weekend nurse coverage and to accommodate the preference of individual nurses for a weekend schedule. When the Employer creates a new Weekend Nurse position, or when an existing Weekend Nurse position becomes vacant, the Employer will post the position in accordance with Article 10.01. 2. A Weekend Nurse Schedule is defined as a schedule in which a nurse is required to work a weekly average of 30 hours and is paid for 37.5 hours per week at her regular straight time hourly rate. Nurses working under the Weekend Nurse Schedule shall be required to work every weekend, in accordance with the period described in paragraph 5, except pre- scheduled vacation time, holiday time and other approved leave. 3. A nurse working in the Weekend Nurse Schedule shall not attract shift differential or weekend premium, except as provided for in this agreement. 4. A wage supplement (37.5 hours pay for 30 hours work) shall be paid by increasing what would otherwise be the hourly rate for the position by 25%. 5. A nurse working in the Weekend Nurse Schedule may be scheduled from the beginning of the day shift on Friday (0700 hrs) to the end of the day shift on Monday (1900 hrs)
WEEKEND NURSE. 26:00 The provisions of Memorandum of Agreement #8 form the basis for the Weekend Nurse position between the Parties at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home.
WEEKEND NURSE. Where the Employer determines that a permanent Weekend Nurse position is to be filled, the position is to be posted in accordance with Article 12. The trial period provision of the Collective Agreement as set out in Article 12.11 shall apply. If the Nurse’s trial period or the Weekend Nurse Trial does not work out the Nurse will revert to pre-trial status as indicated in the Article 12.11.‌
WEEKEND NURSE. The Parties agree that, as soon as reasonably possible following the signing of the Collective Agreement, a process will be agreed upon for discussion and development of a Memorandum of Agreement, if possible, to regulate the Weekend Nurse.   • Weekends Holidays that fall on weekends will be observed on a day established by the School District.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Weekends Off In scheduling shifts the Hospital will endeavour to arrange schedules so as to provide for a minimum of eight (8) weekends off in every twenty-four (24) week period, and, in any event, at least one weekend off in each three (3) week period. Where a weekend off is not granted within a three (3) week period, time worked on such third weekend but not subsequent weekends shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) unless the Hospital, notwithstanding its best efforts, was unable to meet this standard. This standard shall not apply where: (i) such weekend work was performed by the employee to satisfy specific days off requested by such employee; or (ii) such employee has requested weekend work, or was advised at the time of hire or when the job was posted that the regular schedule normally required continuous weekend work; or (iii) such weekend is worked as a result of an exchange of shifts with another employee; or (iv) the Hospital is unable to comply due to a prohibition against scheduling split days off. It is understood and agreed that there shall be no pyramiding of overtime premiums under the provisions of the Collective Agreement arising out of the foregoing undertakings. The foregoing shall have no application where other scheduling arrangements are provided acceptable to the Hospital and the employees affected and approved by the Union. If an employee who is called on their scheduled weekend off refuses a shift, the refused shift will not be counted as a refused shift, as they are entitled to the weekend off according to the collective agreement.

  • Holiday Work Employees who work on a holiday shall receive one and one-half (1-1/2) times their straight time regular rate of pay for all hours actually worked on the holiday, plus holiday pay.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate. 9.3.2. A full-time employee who works other than a Monday through Friday schedule and who is not scheduled to work on a calendar holiday shall be given at the discretion of the Employer (1) another scheduled workday off with pay, or (2) an additional day's pay at his/her regular rate if funds are available.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 18.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer. 18.2 If a bereavement occurs while an employee is absent on annual leave, sick leave on pay, or other special leave on pay, such leave may be interrupted and bereavement leave granted in terms of 18.1 above. This provision will not apply if the employee is on leave without pay. 18.3 In granting time off and for how long, the employer must administer these provisions in a culturally sensitive manner.
