Weekend Schedule. If an employee's scheduled days off are other than Saturday and Sunday during the standard City workweek in which a recognized holiday falls, the following shall apply: (1) The actual dates as listed above shall be considered as the employee's holiday. (2) If the recognized holiday falls on the employee's scheduled day off, the employee shall accrue holiday credit for the hours of the holiday benefit. (3) An employee who is regularly scheduled to work on a recognized holiday shall receive holiday pay plus time and one-half compensation for working the holiday.

Weekend Schedule. The parties agree to establish a Weekend Schedule on the Emergency Unit. In accordance with Article 13.04 of the Collective Agreement, the following provisions will apply: 1. The schedule be implemented on a trial basis for a six-month period. 2. Implementation is subject to a vote requiring the eighty (80) per cent of the Employees on the Unit to indicate, by secret ballot, their willingness to participate in a master schedule that accommodates the Unit Weekend Worker. 3. The vote will be conducted by secret ballot by the Union. 4. Should the Employees indicate their willingness to participate as outlined above, one weekend worker position will be created. A weekend worker full time position created from within the current full time positions (with ninety (90) days notice to the Union) shall be filled with a full time employee from within the unit/department on the basis of seniority from those who indicated an interest to work a weekend worker schedule. Should the weekend worker schedule be an additional full time position the hospital shall post the full time vacancy as such. 5. At the end of the six-month period, a further vote shall be held to indicate whether or not to continue with the Weekend Worker Schedule. 6. The Nurse in this position may discontinue the Weekend Schedule with ninety (90) days’ notice. 7. Either the Hospital or the Union may discontinue the Weekend Schedule with ninety (90) days’ notice. Upon receipt of such notice, a meeting will be held between the parties to discuss the discontinuation. It is understood that such discontinuation shall not be unreasonable or arbitrary.

The opportunity for an individual nurse to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties: (a) Weekend and shift premiums shall not be paid;

A unit weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time Clinical Educator works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hours at her or his regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two (2) eleven and one quarter (11.25) hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Hospital and the Union. A Clinical Educator working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. If the Hospital and the Union agree to a unit weekend schedule, the introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the parties and recorded in Appendix 4. This unit schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined within Appendix 4. Such agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld. The opportunity for an individual Clinical Educator to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the parties: (a) Weekend and shift premiums shall not be paid;

If a weekend worker transfers to a regular full time position any vacation/holiday bank shall remain intact to be used for scheduled vacation or lieu time. Any balance remaining in the given year will be paid out to the nurse. If a weekend worker transfers to a part-time position or terminates employment all vacation/holiday credits will be paid out. 4. Should the parties decide to discontinue the unit weekend schedule; either party will provide a minimum of eight (8) weeks notice. 5. The current weekend worker positions in ICU and Emergency will continue with no trial period. Should additional weekend worker positions be introduced in ICU or Emergency, in accordance with 1 above then there will be a trial period of six (6) months. Any weekend worker positions in any other area will have a trial period of six (6) months. If at the end of the trial period, the Parties decide to discontinue the weekend worker arrangement, the incumbents will return to their previously held positions. 6. It is expected that from time to time the weekend worker may need to be scheduled on weekdays to attend necessary in-service programs.

B E T W E E N: A N D: The Parties acknowledge that in accordance with the Employer’s right to manage and direct its operations it may be necessary from time to time to reassign Nurses to other nursing units within the Hospital. The Parties acknowledge that the need to ensure safe, quality care on both the sending and receiving unit will be the primary consideration in all reassignment decision making. Where it is determined that a nursing unit is in an overstaffed situation, the Hospital will reassign the affected Registered Nurse(s) to another suitable assignment. The selection of the nurse to be reassigned will be made in the following order: a) Ask scheduled nurses if they wish the opportunity to work on the unit to which assignment is required; b) Casual Part Time Nurses on a unit, starting with the most junior would be reassigned; c) The most junior regular part time ...
Weekend Schedule. 115. A Registered Nurse shall be eligible for a weekend premium only when the employee voluntarily commits to working a three out of four weekend schedule. A weekend schedule is defined as working two separate shifts in the same weekend. 116. Nurses shall be paid a 5% premium above their base hourly wage, including shift differential, for all hours worked on the weekend.
Weekend Schedule. Employees shall receive at least every other weekend off. Depending upon staffing needs, employees may be scheduled to work the weekend before or following a vacation period. Where circumstances permit a lesser weekend obligation on a unit, this lesser obligation shall be rotated equitably among the nurses on that unit, unless the third paragraph of Section 5.01 is applicable.
