Work Load and Conditions. 1. The School District Trustees will make an effort to adhere to Standards for Accreditation of Montana Schools. 2. The length of the school year for this contract will be 187 days. 3. Where maximum numbers within a particular building, subject area, grade level, or class period must exceed this standard, an effort will be made to distribute excess students among the teachers assigned to this level, area or class. The composition of a class will be taken into consideration by the building administrator in making such assignments. 4. An early release shall be granted to teachers who have completed their work to the satisfaction of their respective building administrator. This early release shall allow a teacher to conclude work at 3:30 p.m.

Work Load and Conditions. A. School lunches will no longer be provided free to teachers – teachers will pay for their own lunches. B. Teachers must notify the administration by 7:00 am if they are sick and cannot attend school, if at all possible. Teachers who are sick shall also notify the administration whether they are going to return or not by 3:00 p.m. of the same day. C. Lesson Plans will always be made complete so that a substitute teacher may carry on a normal classroom situation. All lesson plans are to be turned in every Friday and before and holidays or vacation to the administration. D. The district shall make an effort to comply with the maximum class load standards established by the Board of Public Education. E. It is expressly understood and agreed by and between the parties of this Agreement that the Board of Trustees will, in the event of death of a teacher, pay to the designated beneficiary the amount of salary earned by and unpaid to the deceased teacher. F. All full time K-12 certified teaching staff shall have individual planning time during the student contact day. Lunch, before school and after school are not to be counted as the planning time. Such planning time is based on the time of a secondary class: i.e. if a secondary class is 50 minutes, the teachers will receive a planning period of 50 minutes each day. Elementary teachers will receive the same amount of time, although it may not be within one block of time. Part time teachers will receive a prorated preparatory period based on the hours taught. Elementary Teachers Only: If you have another extra duty assigned during the school day, then you will be provided a 40 minute duty free lunch. If you do not have another duty assigned, other than lunch you can be provided a 30 minute (minimum) duty free lunch. If the school is still under guidelines of the COVID-19 Pandemic, modified lunches may be necessitated where students will need to eat lunch in the classroom with the teacher. If that is the case, an effort will be made to pair two specials (i.e. Music, PE, ect) together so the teacher gets an extended time to serve as their planning time. This could affect all teachers in the district. G. Staff already employed and qualified for openings within the district will be given the opportunity to apply prior to public listing. H.
